Rocco was a bit shy when arriving, which was understandable in this situation. Who wouldn't be scared if within a short time they would experience pain, and also losing their home and owner. Instead of treatment, Rocco was put to sleep. The owner was convinced, and the cat was surrendered to the Estonian Animal Protection League and is now under the care of Tartu Cat Protection. The cat's teeth were fixed along with other necessary procedures. However, asthma has been detected, which needs to be treated and monitored. The foster home writes: "Rocco is like an old-fashioned gentleman from a movie. He really meows like a gentleman and the world must turn exactly as he wants. He wants a lot of closeness, but exactly as he wants and just that much. You have to know his body language well and understand when there's enough from the cuddles and the pats. Too many pats or approaching him at the wrong moment then he shows you, without shyness, to put a small paw. Sometimes when rushing past him and he's in a bad mood, he can snap. Not suitable for families with children. Loves to sleep in bed and secretly is actually very affectionate and possessive towards people. He has an ideal digestive system, worth keeping. Eats a lot, but always stays in perfect shape. Very protective about his food and no other cats or people can come near his bowl while he's eating. Rather not suitable to live with other cats. Doesn't fight with my other cats, but if others get too close in the bed or somewhere else, they get a paw. But if others don't enter his radius and the bed spots are nicely divided, everyone is fine. Doesn't tolerate dogs. Rocco is old, but plays with a ball and a feather like a boy. He has asthma. Right now, he gets a pill every day. Otherwise, there is a nebulizer available and we slowly train its use. It can be used when he is in the right mood." A new home should definitely take time for the cat to get used to. In the current foster home, several times have occurred where it seemed like it would be adopted, but usually the next home is already simple. The new family should also take into account monitoring and treating his health, which in reality is very simple. He is sufficiently motivated by food, so the pill can be given nicely with food. Rocco has had several treatment bills and clinic visits, and we are grateful if you can support taking care of him.

Rocco oli meieni jõudes veidi pelglik, mis oli selles olukorras arusaadav. Kes ei kardaks, kui lühikese aja jooksul peaks kogema lisaks valule, ka kodu ja omaniku kaotust. Roccot taheti ravimise asemel magama panna. Omanik saadi siiski nõusse ja kass loovutati Eestimaa Loomakaitse Liidule ja on nüüd Tartu Kassikaitse hoole all. Kassihärra hambad said korda tehtud koos muude vajalike protseduuridega. Küll aga on tal tänaseks avastatud astma, mida tuleb ravida ja jälgida. Hoiukodu kirjutab: “Rocco on nagu filmist vana toriseja härrad. Ta päriselt häälega toriseb ja maailm peab keerlema täpselt nii nagu tema tahab. Ta tahab palju lähedust, aga nii nagu tema tahab ja täpselt nii palju. Ta kehakeelt peab hästi tundma ja aru saama, millal on musidest ja paidest küllalt. Liiga palju paisid või kui talle sobimatul hetkel läheneda siis ta näitab sulle seda, ei häbene käpaga väike kõmakas panna. Vahel kui kiirustades temast mööda tormata ja tal paha tuju on, võib äsada. Lastega peresse pigem ei sobi. Armastab voodis magada ja salaja on tegelt väga hellik ja omanditundega inimese suhtes. Tal on ideaalne seedimissüsteem, kadestamist väärt. Sööb väga palju, aga ikka on ideaalkaalus. Oma toidu suhtes on väga kaitsev ja teistel kassidel või inimesel tema söömise ajal tema kausi juurde asja pole. Pigem ei sobi teiste kassidega kokku. Minu teiste kassidega ei kakle, aga kui teised voodis või kuskil liiga ligi siis saavad käpaga. Aga kui teised ei kipu tema raadiussesse ja voodis kohad ilusti ära jaotatud, siis on kõigil hea. Koeri ei salli. Rocco on küll vana, aga mängib palli ja sulepulgaga nagu poisike. Tal on astma. Hetkel saab iga päev tableti. Muidu on nebulisaator olemas ja vaikselt harjutame selle kasutamist. Seda saab kasutada siis kui tal õige tuju.” Uus kodu peaks kindlasti võtma ka aega, et kass saaks harjuda. Praeguses hoiukodus läks mitmeid kuid, et nö omaks võtaks, samas tavaliselt järgmine kodu on juba lihtsam. Uus pere peab arvestama ka tema tervise jälgimise ja ravimisega, mis tegelikkuses on väga lihtne. Ta on küllalt toidust motiveeritud ja nii saab tableti toiduga kenasti antud.
