Rosie has been with us since June 2023. She is a very shy, semi-feral girl who has always preferred the company of other cats to people. She came to us with kittens, who have all since found their homes, but Rosie is still waiting for hers. Rosie absolutely loves other cats, and we’d ideally like her to go to a home with one of her feline friends. We have four cats living happily in our secure barn, and we’d love Rosie to go to a new home with one of her friends. Although our usual policy is for cats to be rehomed as indoor cats, Rosie is one of the exceptions where a secure barn or suitable rural setup could potentially be considered. Ideally, we’d love her to have access to a secure catio or enclosed garden so she can enjoy some outdoor space without being allowed to roam. Rosie would be best suited to someone with experience of feral or semi-feral cats, and most importantly, someone who is happy to let her set the pace. At the moment, she isn’t a cat who enjoys being stroked, although she will happily take a licky treat from your fingers! We’ve managed to give Rosie medication and eye drops when needed, although this does involve a fair amount of patience, licky treats and careful planning! With more time, patience and a quiet home, there’s every chance that Rosie could become much more comfortable around people. She may never turn into a lap cat, and that’s absolutely fine. We’d love to find someone who can appreciate Rosie for who she is and give her the safe, peaceful home and feline companionship she deserves. As with all of our cats, Rosie will leave Farplace spayed, microchipped and vaccinated, with her flea and worm treatment up to date, and following a full health check. We’ll also provide you with a full copy of her veterinary records to keep for your own records when she goes off to her new home. Indoor-only policy Rosie is one of the cats who may be considered for a suitable secure barn or rural setup, particularly with other compatible cats. This would be discussed as part of the adoption process and would need to meet her individual needs. We are happy to consider homes up to around two hours’ travel from the rescue. Any further than this can make it difficult for us to offer the support we feel is important after adoption.
