Samira was given to us at the animal shelter by her family because she attacked the children in the household. We do not know the reasons for this. The grandparents of the family wanted to take Samira in, but she did not get along with the existing cats. At the animal shelter, she was very confused and had trouble dealing with her feelings. On one hand, she wanted to have contact with people, to be petted, and then things would quickly turn around. Later, she would defend her food. We have been working with Samira a lot now. She enjoys being stroked and even puts her head on the knees or in the hand. She is then completely relaxed and enjoys it very much. But not always, one must be able to read her. Even playing with dry food works. We are looking for a quiet new home for Samira with a secure balcony. The apartment should be very large and spacious so that Samira can retreat. Also, hiding places or different levels like a "catwalk" are great. The new owners should have experience with cats and be willing to spend time and have patience working with Samira. There should be no children or fellow animals in the household. Regular daily routines are important for Samira, and a constant presence of strangers would not work. Samira has arthritis in one elbow due to an old fracture and spondylosis in the thoracic vertebrae. She gets two pain medications daily. Samira has spondylosis! Samira wurde von ihrer Familie bei uns im Tierheim abgegeben worden, da sie die Kinder im Haushalt attackiert hat. Die Gründe dafür wissen wir nicht. Die Großeltern der Familie wollten Samira übernehmen, sie hat sich aber mit den vorhandenen Katzen nicht vertragen. Bei uns im Tierheim war sie dann sehr durcheinander und konnte mit ihren Gefühlen nicht umgehen. Einerseits wollte sie den Kontakt zum Menschen. Kuscheln und sich streicheln lassen und dann kippte es schnell. Später hat sie dann ihr Futter verteidigt. Mittlerweile haben wir mit Samira viel geübt. Sie lässt sich gerne streicheln und legt ihr Köpfchen sogar auf die Knie oder in die Hand. Sie ist dann völlig entspannt und genießt das sehr. Aber nicht immer, man muss sie lesen können. Auch Fangspiele mit Trockenfutter klappt schon. Für Samira suchen wir ein ruhiges neues Zuhause mit einem abgesicherten Balkon. Die Wohnung sollte sehr groß und geräumig sein, damit Samira sich zurückziehen kann. Auch Verstecke oder verschiedene Ebenen wie ein „Catwalk“ sind toll. Die neuen Halter sollten Erfahrung mit Katzen haben und Zeit und Geduld haben mit Samira zu arbeiten. Kinder und Artgenossen sollte nicht mit im Haushalt leben. Geregelte Tagesabläufe sind für Samira wichtig und ständiger Besuch von fremden Menschen würde nicht funktionieren. Da Samira Arthrose in einem Ellenbogen durch eine alte Fraktur und Spondylosen in den Brustwirbeln hat, bekommt sie zwei Schmerzmittel täglich. Samira hat Spondylose!
