Tina is a sensitive dog who is very shy at first, it will take time & patience for her to trust & show her true, loving personality. It is likely that she may have had some less than kind treatment in her past life, but consistent and loving handling will soon build her confidence.Tina is not used to living with cats or small pets, and given her sighthound genes, would be quite likely to chase them She is good with other dogs. Tina has no long term history so we would not wish to place her with children under 12 years.Having been unwanted at such an early age does mean that Tina is likely to have missed out on early training, so her adopters will need to be ready to help her catch up, and training classes will be an essential part of that process as well as normal training in the home, socialising with other kind dogs and habituation to the wider world. She is a normal, healthy and active youngster who will need plenty of exercise and company most of the time.Because she is so shy - we feel she would be best placed in a home with another calm & gentle dog to be her mentor When a dog moves into a new home, they need time and consideration to help them feel confident and settled. They are having to adjust to a totally different environment, with new people and new challenges, and when one adopts a rescue dog, one must be ready to help them through not just the first few days, but for as long as it takes for them to feel comfortable in their new life. They are relying on their new owners to teach them the house rules and all about the new world they are living in. They are likely to need and benefit from dog training classes, and may also need behavioural help and the adopter may need to seek professional advice. If you are considering adopting, please be very sure that you are committed to the needs of your new friend, as they will be relying on you and their life and happiness is literally in your hands.
