Turkka spends most of his time in the garden yard in a large dog enclosure and gets along well with other dogs. He curiously explores the surroundings whenever something happens in the shelter kennel, but is especially nervous around new people to the point where he doesn't dare come close. However, people clearly interest him and Turkka patiently follows people around even all day. In the shelter kennel he appears to be a happy and playful personality.

Turkka viettää suurimman osan ajastaan tarhan pihalla isossa koiralaumassa ja tulee hienosti toimeen muiden koirien kanssa. Hän pyörii uteliaasti lähettyvillä aina kun tarhalla tapahtuu jotakin, mutta jännittää erityisesti uusia ihmisiä sen verran, ettei uskalla tulla aivan lähelle. Ihmisten touhut kuitenkin selvästi kiinnostavat häntä ja Turkka jaksaa tunnollisesti seurata ihmisten mukana vaikka koko päivän. Tarhalla hän vaikuttaa iloiselta ja leikkisältä persoonalta.
