SPECIAL APPEAL FOR LITTLE VERA. LOOKING FOR STABILITY AND A LOVING HOME. This little lady came to us as an emergency appeal from a Yorkshire dog warden. Poor Vera has been passed from home to home, pillar to post and has endured a life of excessive breeding. She was living in appalling conditions with other dogs and her welfare was at risk. Her life yet again has been a turbulent one with no stability and love to call her own. Sadly this little cross reed Staffy has been a commodity for someone cruel. Now surplus to requirements she was passed around. She has the undercarriage as proof and we ensure her life is now on the up. Since coming into our care poor Vera has been to the vets twice due to a discharge which we thought was pyometra. This was diagnosed as a water infection luckily which has now been cleared up with antibiotics. Poor, poor Vera. Surely needs a break. Vera is very comical, confident and occasionally bolshy little lass around her toys. She adores playtimes, water and the paddling pool at kennels. She is fun-loving and although sometimes likes life on her terms has the ability to love people. She is friendly and fussy and would benefit from an adult home with someone who understands character Staffies like Vera. She has her moments of bolshy behaviour around teddies and some toys however this is easily managed. We feel her deal home would be with older children and as an only dog. Vera has produced many puppies and a life with centre stage now is a must have. She loves people, enjoys her walks and has character. Although she has previously lived with other dogs we know she prefers the limelight. A home where someone can offer company and understands Staffy breeds would be perfect. We would love to see Vera find the perfect love match after all she has been through. Life is very cruel for many dogs and they live an endurance. This lady's time to shine must be now. Due to the sheer volume of stray dogs now needing help our charity is running behind with admin. Our main priority is for the daily exercise and welfare of the dogs in our care. We thank people for their patience and kind words of support. Our charity exists with few people every day. Time is always precious and we are work extremely late hours to maintain our small rescue. We are now seeing an increase in stray dogs, cruelty and shocking abandonment and neglect. We remain here for the dogs with no voice and an uncertain future. We are working hard to accommodate many neglected dogs. Support and kindness towards our charity is greatly appreciated. CAN YOU OFFER A RESCUE DOG A NEW START? Many dogs are abandoned or have to find a new home through no fault of their own.
