Brody arrived at the shelter several months ago, already familiar with abuse and abandonment. He’s another dog dismissed from hunting—presumably because “he wasn’t suited for that job.” His legs were covered in shot pellets. Since we’ve operated on him, he’s much better, although we haven’t been able to remove all of them yet. He’s a delicate little dog, friendly and cheerful around other dogs; as befits a podenco, he’s a bit shy around caregivers, though if you’re patient and offer him something delicious, you’ll soon get him following you wherever you go. At the shelter, we can’t give him all the time he deserves.
