Despite her sensitive side, Zola is a true sweetheart who has so much love to give. She travels well in the car, enjoys playing with toys, especially ones sturdy enough to withstand her enthusiasm for ripping them apart. Zola has shown she can settle on her own, although she has not been left for long periods so any alone time will need to be built up gradually. She is eating well overall, though like many anxious dogs she can occasionally go off her food when feeling unsettled. Zola could potentially live with sensible secondary school-aged children who understand when she needs space and reassurance. She will thrive in a calm, loving home with patient adopters who can continue building her confidence and provide the security she relies on. In return, they will gain an incredibly loyal, affectionate, and loving companion. Zola is a beautiful two-year-old Dogue de Bordeaux currently living in foster care after finding kennel life too stressful. She can be nervous when first introduced to new environments and situations, often becoming a little unsure and alert until she has had time and reassurance to settle. Once she feels safe, her sweet and curious personality begins to shine through and she enjoys exploring her surroundings at her own pace. Zola forms very close bonds with the people she trusts and takes great comfort and confidence from those familiar relationships. She is happy to meet new people, although she can occasionally be a little wary of men at first and benefits from gentle reassurance from someone she knows well. Vet visits can be particularly frightening for her, so she will need patient and understanding carers who can offer plenty of support during appointments.
