Bambi is a 2-year, 10-month-old Shepherd cross who is a very good girl with a heart full of love and a playful streak to match! Bambi absolutely loves having zoomies! Give her a secure space to stretch her legs and she’ll race around with the biggest smile on her face. Once she’s burnt off some energy, she’s more than happy to come over for cuddles. She’s a big softy at heart and loves spending time with her favourite people. Bambi does have one little confession… when she’s out on her walks, her nose sometimes takes over! There are just so many exciting smells to investigate that she can become a little “selectively deaf.” The kennel team might be calling her name, but if she’s found a particularly interesting scent, sniffing usually wins! With a patient owner and some fun, reward-based training, her listening skills should continue to improve. When it comes to other dogs, Bambi is a bit of a mixed bag. Once she’s had the chance to properly get to know another dog, she’s happy to enjoy walks with her canine friends. However, she would really prefer to be the only pet in her forever home, so she’s looking for a family with no other dogs or cats. Dogs she meets unexpectedly while out and about can sometimes make Bambi feel a little overwhelmed, and she may bark to let everyone know how she’s feeling. She doesn’t mean any harm — she’s simply asking for a bit of space. Bambi will need a patient family who understands that she may need some guidance and positive, reward-based training to help her feel more relaxed and confident when she sees other dogs on her walks. Bambi is looking for a loving family who will enjoy her playful side, appreciate her gentle nature, and understand that sometimes a girl just has to stop and smell the roses… and every bush, lamppost and blade of grass along the way!
