Bimbo is a very special boy with an incredible story of survival. Bimbo was a feral kitten from the streets of Garrucha. He spent a long time with his paw hanging down until a local Association was able to take him in. The back leg could not be saved and had to be amputated. It was a difficult decision, because as he was very feral, he could not go to a home, nor could he return to the street colony, however the Association wanted to give him a chance since at that time he was no more than 9 months old.After going through a failed adoption due to his fears and traumas from being in pain for so long, another Association took in Bimbo. It’s no surprise that, after such hardship, Bimbo found it difficult to trust humans, so a dedicated volunteer spent more than three months working with him on a one-to-one basis in a very quiet environment. With much patience and by always respecting Bimbo and giving him space, he finally allowed himself be petted and began to enjoy playing like the young cat he was.It was at this stage, it was decided that Bimbo would benefit from interaction with other cats and other people and so he came into our Garden area, where our volunteers have continued to work with him, showing patience, kindness and love.Finally, we feel his little heart has healed and he’s ready to believe in people again as today Bimbo is affectionate, loving and full of character with the volunteers he knows. He gets around just fine on three legs and hasn’t let his disability slow him down one bit. Although he is still a wary sole, once he gets to know you, he enjoys a fuss and cuddles, and has a particularly endearing habit of sitting on the back of the sofa to “rearrange” your hair!Bimbo is looking for a calm, caring home with someone who is patient and will give him the time he needs to learn to trust in them. He has shown such courage and resilience — now he’s ready for the reward: a forever home filled with love. He seems to love older children (+10/12 years old).Could you be the person who proves to Bimbo that he was right to trust again?
