Personality:Meet Bobby, our handsome little Dachshund cross who is currently looking for his forever home. His perfect match are adopters who are compassionate, patient and experienced. In the right environment, Bobby thrives. He enjoys training and working closely with his handlers and is the best lap dog. Behaviour:Bobby is worried when meeting new people and needs a gradual introduction, using a hands-off approach. He would benefit from having a quiet area of the house to use when visitors come over, ideally a spare room or area that can be gated off so Bobby does not have to interact with those he does not trust. When settled, Bobby is a wonderful house guest and is clean and quiet. He loves a midday nap after a walk and settles well on his bed or a sofa. Bobby responds incredibly well training and with a consistent approach using positive reinforcement, walks well on the lead. He can be reactive to people and dogs that approach him too quickly but in quieter walking areas, he can sniff and enjoy his walks. Bobby can be left for up to 4 hours in the house and settles well. Housing:Bobby is searching for a quiet, predictable home environment, ideally with only 1-2 residents. He will need a child-free home, including any younger visiting children. Bobby has, and will nip people he does not trust so it is vital we find him the correct home environment. If you are a calm individual and willing to let Bobby settle at his own pace, we would love to hear from you. Children/pets:Bobby will need a dog and cat free home. He is unsure of other dogs and chooses to avoid them when given the opportunity to interact. He has a very high prey drive so small animals cannot be considered. Vet history:Bobby has not yet been neutered and due to his behaviour, will likely stay entire for some time. Bobby is up to date with flea, worming and vaccinations. Bobby has a pre-conditions form for a small heart murmur that does not require treatment and a luxating patella on his knee cap that again does not require surgery currently. Adoption fee:The adoption fee is £220. If you would like to make an additional donation over and above the adoption fee, this would be hugely appreciated.
