Jackie is a lovely little lady who has come into our care from a breeder. She is understandably worried but has settled into foster care very well over the past week with the help of her foster sister, Kelly, and the other resident dogs. Although she can still be submissive at times, she never misses an opportunity to roll over for a gentle belly rub. She has the sweetest nature and is so eager to please those around her. Jackie takes great comfort from her canine friends and gets on beautifully with all of the other dogs in her foster home. She has formed a particularly special bond with her fellow foster dog, Kelly, a Dachshund, who has really helped her settle and build confidence. Because of this, Jackie will need a home with at least one other kind and confident resident dog who she can lean on as she continues to learn about trust, companionship, and life as a much-loved family pet. Having never lived in a home before, Jackie will need patient and understanding adopters who can help her continue to settle in and learn about house training and all the comforts of home. She has not yet learned to walk on a lead and may benefit from spending time exploring a secure garden first, as walks are likely to feel overwhelming until her confidence grows. Jackie has a permanently worried little face, but behind it is a gentle soul who is longing to feel safe and loved. We hope she will find a family who will shower her with love, give her all the time she needs, and help her leave her difficult past behind. She could live with sensible, dog-savvy older children who will respect her boundaries, give her the time she needs to settle, and provide the patience, reassurance, and devotion she deserves. With love and understanding, Jackie has all the potential to blossom into a wonderfully loyal and affectionate companion. Jackie has had seven teeth removed at the time of her spay. Jackie has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
