At foster home: This dog is not in the animal shelter Northeim! Attention, lots of text for lots of dog. 😉 Update March 2024 As soon as the day begins, Josie is almost bursting with energy and desire to work. She wants to work, work, work! Things don't come as easily to her as to other Malinois, but that doesn't change her enthusiasm and motivation. Josie can finally apply what she has learned on the property outside and remains in "work mode" under constant power, but with enjoyment of the "job", which is everything around her beloved chew toy. She is very strongly oriented towards her primary caregiver and can even walk without a leash, while continuing to run circles carrying her chew toy or highly concentrated waiting for action (with the chew toy) from the human. She is so focused that external stimuli that previously caused panic in her and also shut off her mental movie are now silenced. When it gets tricky, a vigorous tug game gives her courage and helps her get through scary situations. *********** Update January 2024: The Malinois in Josie cannot be denied: she is full of power and joy for life when she is at home, that is, on her own property. She has great fun searching for her toys and is really eager for the tug game with them, which she considers a super-reward. Walks are still very stressful for her, but there is also a great new development: Josie has now become a pulling dog. During Canicross, she becomes really bold and pulls with lots of fun and energy! If the human becomes too slow (with so much power, the human has to rest sometimes), she tends to circle again. *********** Update September 2023: Josie is developing really well, but is still far from being calm or secure. She is very strongly oriented towards her primary caregiver and now even rides in the car. Walking is still very stressful for Josie and one must be careful that she does not get overwhelmed and tries to find a "solution" (= escape and circling) herself. Instead, one must help her stay "on the mat," then she can take a few meters to breathe. At home, she is incredibly cuddly and needs closeness, pressing her little cucumber nose very close to her human and dragging toys (and socks) into bed and onto the sofa. When she clumsily climbs onto the couch and snuggles up very close to the human, she lies across other dogs or steps on their faces, because she only has one thing in mind: being as close as possible to her human. *********** May 2023:

Auf Pflegestelle: Dieser Hund befindet sich nicht im Tierheim Northeim! Achtung, viel Text für viel Hund. 😉 Update März 2024 Kaum bricht der Tag an, platzt Josie fast vor Energie und Tatendrang. Sie will arbeiten, arbeiten, arbeiten! Ihr fallen die Dinge nicht so leicht, wie anderen Malis, das ändert aber nichts an ihrer Begeisterung und Motivation. Josie kann auf dem Grundstück gelerntes endlich auch außerhalb anwenden und bleibt im „Arbeitsmodus“ zwar unter Dauerstrom, aber mit Spaß am „Job“, nämlich alles rund um ihre heiß geliebte Beißwurst. Sie orientiert sich dabei sehr stark an ihrer Bezugsperson und kann sogar problemlos ohne Leine laufen, während sie weiterhin Kreise laufend ihre Beißwurst trägt oder höchst konzentriert beim Menschen auf Action (mit der Beißwurst) wartet. Dabei ist sie so sehr bei der Sache, dass Außenreize, die vorher Panik in ihr auslösten und auch ihr Kopfkino ausgeschaltet sind. Wird es doch einmal heikel, macht ein deftiges Zerrspiel Mut und lässt gruselige Situationen überstehen. *********** Update Januar 2024: Der Malinois in Josie lässt sich nicht verleugnen: sie ist voller Power und Lebenslust, wenn sie zu Hause, also auf dem eigenen Grundstück, unterwegs ist. Sie hat riesen Spaß an der Suche nach ihrem Spielzeug und ist richtig heiß auf das Zerrspiel damit, welches sie sich als super-Belohnung abholt. Spaziergänge sind nach wie vor großer Stress für sie, eine tolle neue Entwicklung gibt es aber auch da: Josie ist nun unter die Zughunde gegangen. Beim Canicross wird sie richtig mutig und zieht mit mächtig Spaß und Energie! Wird man zu langsam (Mensch muss bei so viel Power vorweg ja auch mal verschnaufen), tendiert sie aber wieder zum Kreiselaufen. *********** Update September 2023: Josie entwickelt sich richtig gut, ist aber noch immer fern von umweltsicher oder entspannt. Sie orientiert sich sehr stark an ihrer Bezugsperson und fährt mittlerweile auch im Auto mit. Spazierengehen ist für Josie weiterhin sehr stressig und man muss aufpassen, dass sie sich nicht in ihre Überforderung hineinsteigert und selbst versucht eine „Lösung“ (= Flucht und Kreiseln) zu finden. Stattdessen muss man ihr helfen „auf dem Teppich zu bleiben“, dann kann sie auch mal ein paar Meter aufatmen. Zu Hause ist sie unglaublich verschmust und nähebedürftig, drückt ihre kleine Gurkennase ganz eng an ihren Menschen und schleppt Spielzeuge (und Socken) mit ins Bett und aufs Sofa. Wenn sie sich in ihrer unbeholfenen Art mit aufs Sofa und ganz eng an den Menschen kuschelt, legt sie sich auf quer über andere Hunde drüber oder latscht ihnen ins Gesicht, denn sie hat nur eins im Blick: ganz ganz ganz eng bei ihrem Menschen sein. *********** Mai 2023: Nachdem Josie aus der
