Misty is a white and black cat with an estimated age of almost 4 years. She has been living with Eline in a foster family since early 2025. Although Misty found everything here quite exciting and a bit scary at first, she is now really starting to come out of her shell. She can play lopsidedly and makes the floor her own parcour track. While playing with other cats is still a bit unfamiliar for her, she is more than happy to give head rubs, throwing her body against the other cats enthusiastically. Because Misty came into the house with Eline, she is the one who does this the most, and it is exactly the same for Eline. For Misty and Eline, this has become a real part of their communication. When they see each other from a distance, both make a cheerful "prrr" sound, give each other head rubs, and intertwine their tails as if they were. Then they walk side by side in a friendly manner. This is also something they both relied on a lot for support at the beginning, and currently, while Misty is more daring to explore, Eline is a bit more reserved, it is more so for Eline. It is also beautiful to see how the girls have grown together, because in the beginning, they actually found each other quite unappealing. Something you can hardly imagine now. However, it is important to note that Misty has been showing more dominant behavior towards Eline recently. Since Misty is further along in her socialization, she often takes the lead when they are together. She sometimes challenges Eline a bit, and Eline sometimes does not know how to stand up for herself. This is not a big deal, but it occasionally comes to the fore during playtime and sometimes also at mealtime. Misty does not have a voracious appetite and does not eat excessively, but Mrs. Cat likes to be at the front. Despite her very active play, she is a bit on the plump side. By "a bit," I mean just a little round. Good attention is paid to how much she eats, but because she lives with Eline and also with other cats in between, this is unfortunately not solved so easily. Especially because she was a bit more anxious at first and thus received extra treats during her socialization. Her weight does limit her in grooming her coat. She cannot do it everywhere well, and sometimes she makes a half-roll by accident. Misty also has an enormous, full coat, which makes her shed faster and sometimes has itchy skin. However, this has also helped her in her socialization. Because she could not do it well herself, she now often lets you help her. She now also likes to be combed with a small comb and finds it heeeerally nice when you scratch her back. So nice that she can look askance and stick out her tongue. In between, you also get grateful licks from her. At the same time, those licks are also a silent plea not to stop scratching. What is important to note is that despite her huge strides, Misty is still a bit of a scaredy-cat. The same goes for Eline. This means that both still need a lot of patience, love, and understanding and that there is still some work to be done in terms of socialization. New people will always be a bit exciting for her at first, and it can be that she regresses a bit. However, I truly believe that Misty is ready for this next step and have full confidence that she will grow through it beautifully. Misty and Eline are a pair. This means that they will only be placed with each other. The girls have become a real team. Therefore, it is important that there is a connection during the introduction with both ladies. Misty is een wit met zwarte poes, met een geschatte leeftijd van bijna 4 jaar. Zij zit sinds begin 2025 samen met Eline hier in het gastgezin. Hoewel Misty het hier in het begin allemaal erg spannend en eng vond, begint ze nu toch echt uit haar schulp te kruipen. Ze kan heerlijk lomp spelen en maakt van de vloer dan ook haar eigen parcourbaan. Spelen met andere katten is nog wat onwennig voor haar, maar kopjes geven doet ze maar al te graag. Daarbij gooit ze enthousiast haar lichaam tegen de andere katten aan. Omdat Misty samen met Eline in huis kwam, is zij degene bij wie ze dit het liefste doet en andersom is dat precies hetzelfde. Voor Misty en Eline is dit echt een deel van hun communicatie geworden. Als ze elkaar van een afstandje zien aankomen, maken ze allebei een vrolijk “prrr”-geluidje, geven ze elkaar kopjes en haken ze hun staarten als het ware in elkaar. Daarna lopen ze gezellig zij aan zij verder. Dit is ook iets waar ze vooral in het begin beiden veel steun uit haalden en op dit moment, nu Misty wat meer op onderzoek uit durft te gaan en Eline nog wat terughoudender is, geldt dat vooral voor Eline zo. Het is ook erg mooi om te zien hoe de meiden samen zijn gegroeid, want in het begin vonden ze elkaar eigenlijk helemaal niet zo gezellig. Iets wat je je nu bijna niet meer kunt voorstellen. Wel is het belangrijk om te benoemen dat Misty de laatste tijd wat dominanter gedrag laat zien richting Eline. Omdat Misty al wat verder is in haar socialisatie, neemt zij vaker het voortouw wanneer ze samen zijn. Ze daagt Eline soms wat uit en Eline weet dan nog niet altijd goed hoe ze voor zichzelf mag opkomen. Dit is niet heel erg, maar het komt af en toe wel naar voren tijdens spelmomenten en soms ook bij het eten. Misty heeft echter geen voernijd en eet ook niet overdreven veel, maar mevrouw staat wel graag vooraan. Ondanks dat Misty zo heerlijk actief speelt, is ze wel wat aan de volle kant. En met “wat” bedoel ik eigenlijk gewoon tonnetje rond. Er wordt hier goed op gelet hoeveel ze eet, maar omdat ze samen zit met Eline én tussendoor met andere katten, is dit hier helaas niet zomaar opgelost. Zeker omdat ze in het begin wat angstiger was en daardoor ook extra snoepjes kreeg bij haar socialisatie. Het enige waar haar gewicht haar echt in beperkt, is het verzorgen van haar vacht. Ze kan er niet overal goed bij en als ze het probeert, maakt ze soms per ongeluk een halve koprol. Misty heeft daarnaast ook nog eens een enorm volle vacht, waardoor ze sneller schilfers krijgt en soms last heeft van een jeukende huid. Als geluk bij een ongeluk heeft dit haar juist weer verder geholpen in haar socialisatie. Omdat ze er zelf niet altijd goed bij kon, liet ze steeds vaker toe dat je haar hielp. Inmiddels laat ze zich dan ook graag kammen met een klein kammetje en vindt ze het heeeerlijk als je haar rug krabbelt. Zo heerlijk zelfs, dat ze er scheel van kan kijken en haar tongetje uitsteekt. Tussendoor krijg je dan ook dankbare likjes van haar. Tegelijkertijd zijn die likjes ook een stille smeekbede om vooral niet te stoppen met krabbelen. Wat wel belangrijk is om rekening mee te houden, is dat Misty ondanks haar enorme stappen nog steeds een angsthaasje is. Hetzelfde geldt voor Eline. Dit betekent dat ze beiden nog veel geduld, liefde en begrip nodig hebben en dat er zeker nog wat werk aan de winkel is op het gebied van socialisatie. Nieuwe mensen zullen in het begin altijd even spannend voor haar blijven en het kan dus zijn dat ze eerst wat terugvalt. Toch geloof ik echt dat Misty klaar is voor deze volgende stap en heb ik er alle vertrouwen in dat ze daar opnieuw mooi doorheen gaat groeien. Misty en Eline zijn een stelletje. Dit betekent dat zij uitsluitend met elkaar zullen worden geplaatst. De meiden zijn inmiddels echt een team geworden. Daarom is het belangrijk dat er tijdens de kennismaking een klik is met beide dames. Misty heeft beide vaccinaties gehad, is gesteriliseerd en is gechipt. Haar geboortedatum is geschat op 1-10-2022.
