Little Nellie is a something of a pocket rocket, a trait Patterdale lovers will know all about! She's a lot of fun and sems to have unlimited energy, but she can be shy when she first meets people. She likes to be able to have a few exploratory sniffs with new folks before they interact with her, and her new family must be respectful of this. Poor Nellie has been handled roughly by children also so, with both these elements combined, we're looking for a home where any children are older teenaged and understand her needs. Nell lacks confidence around other dogs after being attacked in the past, so now she can be reluctant to interact. She will walk with one or two that aren't interested in her but won't tolerate any dogs approaching her face on. Nellie LOVES toys! She will carry them around, giving them the terrier shake but we advise giving her a little time out from the fun also, as she gets herself in a bit of a state with excitement on occasion. She's learning how to trade and doing very well. She is a very clever dog in general and would probably enjoy learning tricks, she already knows how to stand on her hind legs, ad well as the usual sit and paw. Nellie can live with older teens but needs to be the only pet in the home due to negative experiences with both in the past. She is house trained and has been good when she's left alone at home. A low populated area would be ideal for Nellie, but not essential.
