Meidän hieno poika Ralph, mistä alkaa hänen tarinansa... Ralphin pelastettiin maaliskuussa 2021 Ranskasta kill-paikasta. Hänet adoptoitiin pian sen jälkeen mutta palautettiin 12 päivää myöhemmin. Ralph oli erittäin pelokas ja tarvitsi aikaa asettua ja tuntea olevansa turvassa, jotain mitä häntä ei valitettavasti annettu. Lyhyesti sen jälkeen hänelle tarjottiin paikkaa toisessa pelastuskeskuksessa, koska he uskoivat hänen saavan nopeasti kotimaisen perheen ja tämä antaisi meille tilan pelastaa toinen koira, joka oli vaarassa kohdattavaksi. Valitettavasti Ralphia jätti huomiotta monta kertaa ja hän käytti pitkän ajan tässä toisessa pelastuskeskuksessa. He päättivät antaa hänelle toisen mahdollisuuden muualle ja tiesivät hänen menestävänsä paremmin eri ympäristössä monien uusien koirien kanssa. Ralph kiinnittyi hyvin henkilökuntaan ja alkoi olla hieman väkiintyvää muiden koirien kanssa, varoittaen heitä ja estämään heitä lähestymästä ihmisiään. Tämä käyttäytyminen paheni ja Ralph palasi Oakwoodiin nähdäkseen, voiko hän nyt aloittaa uudelleen olla koirien ympäröimänä. Tähän mennessä hän on tehnyt monta koirakaveria, joita hän rakastaa viettoon päivänsä. Emme kuitenkaan vuorovaikuttele hänen kanssaan, kun hän on niiden kanssa, jotta estämme aiempia ongelmia. Ralph pysyy meillä ennen kuin loppuun asti ja teemme aktiivisesti parhaan vanhusten kodin etsimistä hänelle. Ralphilla ei ole koskaan ollut omaa kotia ja perhetään, mikä on vain syvästi surullista, joten meidän on varmistettava, että löydämme täydellisen iäntymiscodeille hänelle. Voiko se olla sinä? Hän voi todella olla koirakaverit kotona, mutta koska käyttäytymistä on havaittu edellisessä pelastuskeskuksessa, emme voi adoptoida häntä kotiin, jossa on jo muita koiria. Ralphia ei ole testattu kissoihin nähden, mutta koska hänellä on ongelmia muiden koirien kanssa läsnäoloessaan ihmisiensä kanssa, emme riskinottaa kissan turvallisuutta asettamalla hänet kotiin, jossa on kissa, koska on todennäköistä, että hän varottaisi myös kissaa. Ralph on osoittanut keskivertoenergiamäärän. Ralph ei osoita mitään merkkejä yksinäisyyden ahdistusta, mutta hänen aikansa yksin kotonaan tulisi vähitellen lisätä varmistaaksemme, että hän tuntee olevansa turvassa ennen kuin hänet jätetään yksin pidempään. Our handsome boy Ralph, where do we start with his story.. Ralph was rescued back in March 2021 from a kill shelter in Romania. He was adopted shortly afterwards but was returned 12 days later. Ralph was a very nervous boy and he needed time to settle in and feel safe, something that he sadly he was not given. Shortly afterwards, he was offered a place at a different rescue as they believed that he'd be snapped up quickly and this would give us a space to rescue another dog that was facing euthanasia. Unfortunately, Ralph was overlooked time and time again and spent a very long time at this other rescue. They decided to give him another chance elsewhere and knew he'd thrive in a different environment with lots of new dogs to play with. Ralph became very attached to the staff and started being a bit naughty with the other dogs, warning them off and not letting them near his human friends. This behaviour started getting worse and so Ralph came back to Oakwood to see if he could reset himself and start enjoying being around dogs again. So far, he has made lots of dog friends that he loves spending his days with but we don't interact with him whilst he is with them just to prevent any previous issues from arising. Ralph will be staying with us for the foreseeable future and we will actively be looking for the best retirement home for him. Ralph has never had his own home and family before which is just heart breaking so we need to make sure we find the perfect forever home for him. Could this be you? Ralph has always been amazing with other dogs however he has been known to warn off other dogs when he is around people that he loves. He will absolutely be able to have dog friends when in a home but from the behaviours that have been witnessed at the previous rescue, we are unable to adopt him to a home with other dogs already residing there. Ralph is untested with cats however, as he had issues with other dogs around his people, we wouldn't risk a cats safety by placing him in a home with one as it is likely he would also tell a cat off too. Ralph has shown to have moderate energy levels. Ralph doesn't show any signs of separation anxiety however his time alone in a home should be slowly built up to ensure he feels safe before he is left alone for longer periods Ralph is not yet lead trained, we will start working on this once he has settled in
