Tudor, a joyful German Shepherd, is looking for active people! Tudor was unfortunately surrendered to our shelter and we won’t know the exact reason for it, but his humans did not want him anymore. He is a magnificent “traditional” German Shepherd, absolutely beautiful! His hips a re bit lower, so he does not have a completely straight back, but fortunately they are not very low, like some German Shephards unfortunately have, so his hips and back legs seems to be in a quite good condition, and he is nicely mobile. He is a cheerful guy who captivates with his beautiful appearance and his exemplary behavior once away from the shelter stress. He is very affectionate towards people, sometimes showing a little excitement due to his high energy, so he is looking for people who are not afraid of bigger dogs and love to be in phycial connection with their dog. When he comes out his kennel, finally after over 23 hours waiting every day, he is excited to see volunteers and finally go for a walk, so he can be a bit jumpy at first, this is mainly due to the accumulated energy in the daily shelter routine, where he cannot properly release his strength. Once he is walking, away from the shelter, in the nature, he walks so well on the leash and shows what an intelligent German Shephard he really is, following your lead with the most minimal movement and guidance, reading where you plan to go, and following your pace. He loves to travel in the car, and to go on adventures in the nature. Tudor is a physicall and mentally strong and intelligent dog who absolutely wants to be mentally challenged and physically exercised every day. He loves to learn and is looking for people who enjoy working with him and continuing his training in a loving way. On the leash, Tudor sometimes still reacts by barking, around the shelter stress, but we have already been able to test him in close contact and he shows himself to be appropriately social. He will certainly need good guidance during encounters in order to calmly meet new dogs, which is why his new humans should bring some patience and loving leadership at the beginning. For this smart and strong male dog, we are looking for active people who can offer him the necessary structure and physical activity that a German Shepherd needs for a happy life. Anyone who enjoys shared tasks, training and lots of exercise will find a perfect and infinitely loyal companion in Tudor. His shoulder height is 67cm.
