Golda – the quiet cat who wants to be seen. In total, 14 cats were secured from this animal hoarding household. Golda is – alongside Yellena – the only cat among all the tomcats. And perhaps that already explains a bit why she is like she is. Golda is a very delicate, reserved young cat. She does not stand out through loudness, through pushing or demanding. On the contrary: Often she sits there, with wide-open eyes, frozen in uncertainty – and observing. Her favorite spot is the high ledge under the ceiling. There she feels safe. There no one comes too close. Golda does not hide. She is there. But she stays at a distance. When one approaches her, she retreats. Her trust in us humans is still fragile – and that, given what she has experienced, is more than understandable. In a very short time, a lot has happened, and the way she was raised has left deep marks. Golda is a very sensitive, fragile soul who still has to process all of this. She needs people who take her by the hand. Who show her that closeness is not threatening. That one can trust people. And above all: She needs time. Time is the key to Golda. And a little helper: Schleckis. Because with Schleckis, she dares to come closer, looks curiously, wants to know more. One can clearly feel: Also Golda wants closeness. She experiences it as something good – she just doesn’t dare quite yet. In the midst of the many dominant tomcats, Golda often goes unnoticed. She belongs to the cats who stay in the background, who almost become invisible because others so obviously beg for attention. And yet, we are convinced: Also Golda wishes for exactly that. She does not retreat because she does not want contact – but because she hopes that someday a person will come who has eyes only for her. She observes, studies, and takes note of routines. With us animal caretakers, she dares to go a little further down – step by step. That’s exactly how it should be. Golda may thaw at her own pace. Also the topic of cleanliness must be addressed with Golda. We have never observed her doing it, but due to her imprinting, her origin, and the current situation in the very full cat room, it could be a topic. Golda is accustomed to apartment living and will also be rehomed in apartment living. An option for release would be desirable to – if necessary – better accompany the topic of cleanliness. Golda is very finely social. Especially close is her bond to Berko – the two are almost always together. This cat needs outdoor access.

Und vielleicht erklärt das schon ein Stück weit, warum sie so ist, wie sie ist. Golda ist eine sehr zierliche, zurückhaltende junge Katze . Sie fällt nicht durch Lautstärke auf, nicht durch Drängeln oder Fordern. Im Gegenteil: Oft sitzt sie da, mit weit aufgerissenen Augen, erstarrt vor Unsicherheit – und beobachtet. Ihr Lieblingsplatz ist das hohe Liegebrett unter der Decke. Dort fühlt sie sich sicher. Dort kommt ihr niemand zu nahe. Golda versteckt sich nicht. Sie ist da. Aber sie bleibt auf Abstand. Geht man auf sie zu, weicht sie zurück. Ihr Vertrauen in uns Menschen ist noch brüchig – und das ist angesichts dessen, was sie erlebt hat, mehr als verständlich. In sehr kurzer Zeit ist unglaublich viel passiert, und die Art, wie sie aufgewachsen ist, hat tiefe Spuren hinterlassen. Golda ist eine sehr sensible, zerbrechliche Seele , die all das erst noch verarbeiten muss. Sie braucht Menschen, die sie an die Hand nehmen. Die ihr zeigen, dass Nähe nichts Bedrohliches ist. Dass man Menschen vertrauen kann. Und vor allem: Sie braucht Zeit. Zeit ist der Schlüssel zu Golda. Und ein kleiner Helfer: Schleckis . Denn mit Schleckis traut sie sich näher heran, schaut neugierig, möchte mehr. Man spürt deutlich: Auch Golda möchte Nähe. Sie empfindet sie als etwas Gutes – sie traut sich nur noch nicht so recht. Inmitten der vielen dominanten Kater geht Golda oft unter. Sie gehört zu den Katzen, die sich im Hintergrund halten, die fast unsichtbar werden, weil andere so offensichtlich um Aufmerksamkeit buhlen. Und doch sind wir überzeugt: Auch Golda wünscht sich genau das. Sie zieht sich nicht zurück, weil sie keinen Kontakt will – sondern weil sie hofft, dass irgendwann ein Mensch kommt, der nur Augen für sie hat . Sie beobachtet, studiert, merkt sich Abläufe. Bei uns Tierpflegerinnen traut sie sich langsam schon etwas weiter nach unten – Schritt für Schritt. Genau so soll es sein. Golda darf in ihrem Tempo auftauen. Auch das Thema Unsauberkeit müssen wir bei Golda offen erwähnen. Wir haben sie bislang nie dabei beobachtet, dennoch kann es aufgrund ihrer Prägung, der Herkunft und der aktuellen Situation im sehr vollen Katzenzimmer ein Thema sein. Golda ist Wohnungshaltung gewohnt und wird auch in Wohnungshaltung vermittelt. Eine Option auf Freigang wäre wünschenswert, um – falls nötig – das Thema Sauberkeit besser begleiten zu können. Sozial ist Golda sehr fein. Besonders eng ist ihre Bindung zu Berko – die beiden liegen fast immer zusammen. Eine gemeinsame
