Adopt Frida

In June 2022, Carmen, who maintained Carpen farm, was driving to the farm when suddenly, in the middle of the fields far from villages and settlements, she saw a motionless figure. Since finding sick dogs is almost daily in Romania, Carmen immediately knew she couldn't leave it uninvestigated. Therefore, she stopped and, upon getting closer, saw that the figure was an extremely thin and emaciated dog. Named Flor, the female was too weak to move. On the way to the veterinarian, she nibbled grass, which she had probably eaten desperately while lying on the field due to hunger. Flor was first treated at the vet and, once sufficiently recovered, was moved to the shelter kennel, where treatment continued. Gradually, Flor's condition improved and she started gaining weight. Despite everything, Flor was still a very thin patient and it was therefore a huge surprise when, a few weeks later, in Flor's litter there were five newborn puppies in addition to her. She had already been pregnant at the time of discovery and instead of one, Carmen had actually rescued six lucky ones on that hot summer day. Flor and her puppies Fanni, Frans, Florian, Fiona and Frida are still waiting at Carpen shelter kennel. The puppies have grown up in the shelter kennel and therefore understandably, everything is fascinating and exciting for them. Frida is clearly more timid than her siblings and when strangers enter the kennel run, she retreats behind her sisters to observe the situation. After a moment of hesitation, she does eat treats from strangers' hands, but gently withdraws back further between the treats. In a future home or foster home, it would be good to have an already confident dog companion, from which Frida could take cues while adjusting to a new life.
