Adopt Froggy

15-05-26 Froggy has recently arrived with us from a breeder and is finding the world a very overwhelming place right now. She is a very worried girl and clearly hasn’t had much experience with handling before. At the moment, she is very worried by formal handling and can panic. If she feels pushed too far out of her comfort zone she could choose to make the wrong decision, so it will be really important that her adopters take things slowly and allow her to progress at her own gentle pace. Despite her worries, Froggy is already beginning to show us glimpses of the sweet girl she truly is. She is slowly learning that human hands can be kind, has enjoyed some gentle fusses, and has even started taking treats from us. These small steps are a big achievement for her and show just how much potential she has to blossom in the right home. Froggy is looking for a calm, quiet, adult only home with adopters who have experience of scared ex-breeding dogs. She will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home to help guide her, reassure her, and show her that life in a home can be safe and happy. As Froggy has never lived in a home before, her adopters will need to be patient and understanding while she learns all about home life for the first time, including new skills like house training. She will also need a secure garden with 6ft fencing. She doesn’t yet walk on a lead or harness and will need to begin by learning to feel comfortable wearing a harness, before gradually practising walking around the home and garden and building up her confidence at her own pace. Froggy may be a worried girl now, but with time, patience and lots of love, we truly believe she will come out of her shell. Watching her confidence grow and seeing her blossom into the dog she was always meant to be will be incredibly rewarding for her future family. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
