Herdenschutzhunde in Romania – We Need Your Support Some of our shelter residents in Romania unfortunately cannot be rehomed to Switzerland. They are likely herdschutzhunde – dogs originally bred to independently watch large herds and protect extensive areas. Such dogs have it hard in Switzerland too. Space is becoming more scarce, nature is shrinking, and there are only a few very dog-experienced people who can meet the special needs of these dogs. Herdschutzhunde need a lot of space, clear tasks, and an environment that suits their original nature. In a densely populated area, they would quickly become overwhelmed and unhappy. Therefore, we have to let them stay in Romania with a heavy heart. But they are not left to themselves: Rodica lovingly cares for them and ensures they can lead the best possible life. She gives them affection, pays attention to their well-being, and makes sure they always have sufficient food, fresh water, and a dry place to sleep. For dogs like Jaro, we are searching for a Gotti. And we have found this Gotti in Marianne. She supports Jaro with a monthly contribution of CHF 40.00. This way, the basic sustenance of a dog can be permanently secured. Every contribution helps – and gives these impressive, but hard-to-place dogs a real chance at a dignified life. We need your support!
