Generalities: Very young cat with a soft white and black coat, highlighted by gentle light green eyes and a tender pink nose. She is vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Her name, Nova, refers to the sudden and intense light of stars: in astronomy a "nova" is an explosion that makes a star shine with new strength, making it visible after a period of silence. A name we wish her to be auspicious: one of a bright rebirth, made of new possibilities and a finally peaceful life. Personality: Nova is a very shy cat who carries the signs of difficult experiences she lived during her first months of life. With the staff and volunteers she regularly meets, she is slowly learning that human presence can be kind, respectful and reassuring. At the moment she is not yet ready for physical contact, but she is becoming more and more curious and attentive to what surrounds her. She observes, evaluates and, with small but significant steps, begins to open up to the world. She needs time to feel safe: every progress, even the smallest, represents a great achievement for her. She is not a cat "ready right away", but a cat that, in the right context, can make important progress and build a deep, authentic and lasting bond. Ideal adoption: For Nova we are looking for a very quiet and stable environment, with adult, patient people and preferably experienced in handling shy cats. It is essential that whoever adopts her is aware that time, consistency and delicate interactions will be needed, always respecting her rhythms and spaces. Adoption is required as a single cat or together with a compatible cat shelter companion, in a setting without children, where she can gradually build a relationship based on trust and predictability. Available for adoption only in the province of Monza and Brianza and in the neighboring municipalities. Background: Nova was rescued in October 2025, along with numerous other cats, from a very complex situation of severe deprivation, characterized by overcrowding and prolonged lack of care, stimulation and individual attention. Following the sudden arrival of so many animals, Nova and some of her companions had been temporarily transferred to another facility. Today she has finally returned to the Monza cat shelter, where she has started an important recovery and socialization process, with the goal of finding a permanent home where she can live cared for and loved as she deserves.

Carattere: Nova è una gatta ancora molto timida, che porta con sé i segni delle esperienze difficili vissute nei suoi primi mesi di vita. Con le operatrici e i volontari che frequenta con regolarità sta lentamente imparando che la presenza umana può essere gentile, rispettosa e rassicurante. Al momento non è ancora pronta per il contatto fisico, ma si dimostra sempre più curiosa e attenta a ciò che la circonda. Osserva, valuta e, con piccoli ma significativi passi, inizia ad aprirsi al mondo. Adozione ideale: Per Nova cerchiamo un ambiente molto tranquillo e stabile, con persone adulte, pazienti e preferibilmente con esperienza nella gestione di gatti timorosi. È fondamentale che chi la accoglierà sia consapevole che serviranno tempo, costanza e interazioni delicate, sempre nel pieno rispetto dei suoi ritmi e dei suoi spazi. Si richiede un’adozione come gatta singola oppure insieme a un compagno di gattile compatibile, in un contesto privo di bambini, dove possa costruire gradualmente un rapporto basato sulla fiducia e sulla prevedibilità. Adottabile solo nella provincia di Monza e Brianza e nei comuni strettamente limitrofi. Provenienza: Nova è stata salvata nell’ottobre 2025, insieme a numerosi altri gatti, da una situazione molto complessa di grave deprivazione, caratterizzata da sovraffollamento e mancanza prolungata di cure, stimoli e attenzioni individuali. A seguito dell’arrivo improvviso di così tanti animali, Nova e alcuni suoi compagni erano stati temporaneamente trasferiti in un’altra struttura. Oggi è finalmente tornata al gattile di Monza, dove ha iniziato un importante percorso di recupero e socializzazione, con l’obiettivo di trovare una casa definitiva, in cui possa vivere accudita e amata come merita.
