"Lost Dog" information about the wolf-like puppy, here's what we found out... The dog's owner, while leaving the country, had told her friend - do whatever you want, even euthanize... As the dog was barking and neighbors were complaining while left alone at home, the friend decided she didn't want the dog either. The friend refused to provide the real owner's details to the police. We don't have precise information on how the woman tried to get rid of the animal, but the official version goes like this: On March 13th, a dog was found on the A4 highway, in the section Sunīši-Mucenieki. No microchip was detected. On March 14th, the dog was already with the police in Riga, Preiļu Street 4, from where it was taken to the shelter. The wolf-like dog (smaller and slimmer than a typical German shepherd - 22 kg) is approximately three years old. She is nice, affectionate and moderately obedient. If you spend some time training her, she will become a fine, smart and beautiful companion - a true lover of her owner. It's possible that left alone at home, she really may bark, but this can be resolved. If the dog is kept busy - meaning, provided with an active walk in the morning before work, shared activities on weekends and, if living in an apartment, also attending dog school - the barking should disappear. Riku can also be adopted by a family with small children, as long as the parents have time to fully engage with the dog.

“Dzenot pēdas” informācijai par it kā atrasto vilkveidīgo sunīti, lūk, ko uzzinājām… Suņa īpašniece, izbraucot no valsts, draudzenei esot noteikusi – lai dara, ko grib, kaut vai eitanizē… Tā kā, paliekot viena mājās, sune rej un kaimiņi sūdzas, arī draudzene nolēmusi, ka viņai suni tomēr nevajag. Izpaust īstās saimnieces datus pat policijai draudzene atteicās. Mums nav precīzas informācijas, kādā veidā sieviete centusies no dzīvnieka atbrīvoties, bet oficiālā versija skan šādi: 13. martā uz šosejas A4, posmā Sunīši–Mucenieki, atrasts suns. Mikročips nav konstatēts. 14. martā suns jau atradās pie policistiem Rīgā, Preiļu ielā 4, no kurienes tika nogādāts patversmē. Vilkveidīgā sune (augumā mazāka un smalkāka par tipisku vācu aitu suni – 22 kg) ir aptuveni trīs gadus veca. Viņa ir jauka, sirsnīga un mēreni klausīga. Ja sunīti nedaudz paskolosiet, izveidosies feina, gudra un skaista kompanjone – īsta savu saimnieku mīlule. Iespējams, paliekot mājās viena, viņa tiešām var riet, taču tas ir risināms. Ja sune būs nodarbināta – proti, nodrošināta aktīva pastaiga no rīta pirms darba, kopīgas aktivitātes brīvdienās un, dzīvojot pilsētas dzīvoklī, arī suņskolas apmeklējums –, riešanai vajadzētu izzust. Riku var adoptēt arī ģimenē ar maziem bērniem, ja vien vecākiem būs laiks pilnvērtīgi ar suni nodarboties.
