Generalities: Sirio is a sweet puppy with a soft white and black coat; his thick tail is all black, with a white tip, as if it had been dipped in cream. Completing his appearance is a sweet pink nose and two beautiful yellow-green eyes full of curiosity. Sirio has a slight ataxia in one hind leg, probably as a result of a past parvovirus infection, now fully resolved. The ataxia consists of a slight difficulty in coordinating the movement of the affected limb: in his case, it simply translates into a somewhat particular gait, without preventing him from moving normally. Sirio runs, jumps and plays enthusiastically, like any other kitten of his age. He is vaccinated and microchipped. He will be spayed soon. Not yet tested for FIV/FeLV. Personality: Sirio is a very young cat who still shows some shyness towards people, understandably marked by his difficult past. However, he loves playing, which represents his main way of approaching: through playful activities, he is learning to trust the staff of the cat shelter and the volunteers he meets most often. Over time, he is realizing that he has no reason to be afraid and is moving around with increasing confidence in the box he shares with other kittens and an adult cat from the same situation, who is already much more confident and an important reference point for him. Sirio is not yet ready for physical contact and must take the next step, that of allowing himself to be touched and caressed. Meanwhile, he is becoming more and more accustomed to the presence and routines of the staff and volunteers, observing the interactions between the adult cat and people and drawing reassurance from the calmness he displays. We are confident that, with the right timing and in the appropriate setting, it won't be long before he takes this important step. He gets along well with the companions with whom he shares the large box of the cat shelter, which is rich in furnishings, games and stimuli. During playtime, the younger ones are very lively and Sirio joins them in the hunt for "prey" (such as feathers attached to the string of the wand), completely unaware of being a carrier of that small "disability" that in no way limits his desire to live and play. (In the photo below on the right, Sirio is engaged in the hunt with his companion Centauro.) Adoption ideal: For the shy Sirio, we are looking for a quiet and stable environment, with patient and aware people able to offer him the security that has so far been missing. For families with children, older kids are recommended, who are educated to respect the spaces and rhythms of a cat. It can also be suitable as a first adoption, provided it is approached with awareness. At the Monza animal shelter, he is housed in a large box with other cats from the same context, with whom he lives peacefully. He could be placed alone, without other cats previously present in the home, or paired with another cat from the shelter. In the case of adoption in a house with a garden, it is essential that he initially remains exclusively indoors, to allow him to adjust safely and build appropriate reference points, both environmental and social. Sirio is available for adoption only in the province of Monza and Brianza and in the immediately adjacent municipalities. Background: Sirio comes from a very complex and severe deprivation situation, in which he was not able to receive the care and attention he needed. Now he is ready to start a new life in a family capable of offering him stability, respect and affection.

Generalità: Sirio è un tenero cucciolo dal soffice mantello bianco e nero; la folta coda è tutta nera, con la punta bianca, come se fosse stata intinta nella panna. Completano il suo aspetto un dolce nasino rosa e due begli occhi gialli-verdi, pieni di curiosità. Sirio presenta una lieve atassia a una zampa posteriore, probabilmente come esito di una passata infezione di parvovirosi, ormai completamente risolta. L’atassia consiste in una leggera difficoltà di coordinazione nel movimento dell’arto interessato: nel suo caso si traduce semplicemente in un’andatura un po’ particolare, senza impedirgli di muoversi normalmente. Sirio corre, salta e gioca con entusiasmo, come qualsiasi altro gattino della sua età. È vaccinato e microchippato. Verrà sterilizzato a breve. Non ancora testato FIV/FeLV. Carattere: Sirio è un giovanissimo micio che si mostra ancora un po’ diffidente nei confronti delle persone, comprensibilmente segnato dal suo difficile vissuto. Adora però il gioco, che rappresenta per lui il principale canale di avvicinamento: proprio attraverso l’attività ludica sta imparando a fidarsi delle operatrici del gattile e dei volontari che incontra più spesso. Con il tempo sta comprendendo che non ha motivo di aver paura e si muove con crescente sicurezza nel box che condivide con altri cuccioli e con un gatto adulto proveniente dalla stessa situazione, già molto più sicuro e per lui un importante punto di riferimento. . Sirio non è ancora pronto al contatto fisico e deve compiere il passo successivo, quello di lasciarsi toccare e accarezzare. Nel frattempo si sta abituando sempre di più alla presenza e alle routine delle operatrici e dei volontari, osservando le interazioni tra il micio adulto e le persone e traendo rassicurazione dalla serenità che questo dimostra. Siamo fiduciosi che, con i giusti tempi e nel contesto adeguato, non passerà molto prima che faccia anche questo importante passo. . Va d’accordo con i compagni con cui condivide il grande box del gattile, ricco di arredi, giochi e stimoli. Durante i momenti di gioco i più giovani sono molto vivaci e Sirio si scatena come loro alla caccia delle “prede” (come le piume legate al filo della bacchetta), del tutto inconsapevole di essere portatore di quel piccolo “handicap” che non limita in alcun modo la sua voglia di vivere e giocare. . Adozione ideale: Per il timido Sirio cerchiamo un contesto tranquillo e stabile, con persone pazienti e consapevoli del suo vissuto, capaci di offrirgli la sicurezza che finora gli è mancata. Per famiglie con figli, sono indicati ragazzi più grandi, educati al rispetto degli spazi e dei tempi di un gatto. Può essere adatto anche come prima adozione, purché affrontata con consapevolezza. Al rifugio di Monza è ospitato in un grande box con altri gatti provenienti dal suo stesso contesto con cui convive tranquillamente. Potrebbe essere affidato da solo, senza altri gatti precedentemente presenti in casa, o a coppia con un altro gatto ospitato in gattile con lui. In caso di adozione in una casa con giardino, è fondamentale che inizialmente rimanga esclusivamente in ambiente interno, per permettergli di ambientarsi in sicurezza e costruire adeguati punti di riferimento, sia ambientali sia sociali. . Sirio è adottabile solo nella provincia di Monza e Brianza e nei comuni strettamente limitrofi. . Provenienza: Sirio proviene da una situazione molto complessa e di forte deprivazione, nella quale non ha potuto ricevere le cure e le attenzioni di cui avrebbe avuto bisogno. .
