7 year old Aleksandra is a little girl who has undergone a real transformation, from a timid dog in kennels, to a loved member of her foster family. She was formerly kennelled in Macedonia, but is now flourishing in her foster home in Scotland. She is a determind soul who stared permanent disability in the face and refused to succomb. Aleksandra was run over by a car in Macedonia and suffered a broken pelvis. The vets said she would never walk again, but Aleksandra was having none of that! She was back on her feet in 2 weeks and hasn’t let life get her down since. Upon arrival at her foster home, she was rather worried and felt everthing was a bit strange and scary. With love and patience, she began to realise that not all humans meant harm. With this new found confidence, Aleksandra began to discover life could be fun. She has discovered walks, to the point she will lay down waiting for her harness to be put on! She will then walk beautifully beside her human. Toys are a huge love for her coupled with zoomies and lots of cuddles. Yummy food is also a real passion, although she prefers to eat alone best of all. But the most unexpected discovery for little Aleksandra has been that humans give the best snuggles, particularly wonderful neck rubs! Aleksandra can still be a little shy when new people visit, prefering to watch things unfold from the safety of the sofa. Just until she feels it’s ok to interact, although she no longers shakes which she used to do. She can live with dog savvy children and would very much like a doggy sibling to share life with. Potentially and with careful introduction, even a feline friend, too. Aleksandra would bring the best cuddles and companionship into someone’s life, if they open their heart and home to her.
