Bendžo was found on the road between the villages of Jasov and Rudník, where he was waiting at the same place for at least two days. We all know what that means... someone left him there. Bendžo is a free-spirited dog and was probably a stray. He is an active dog who loves fetching and a life without a ball is impossible - it is the center of his universe. He nicely carries the ball and waits for the person to throw it again. With new people he is immediately a companion and has no problem being petted and going for a walk. He is a favorite on walks in the shelter - he walks nicely on a leash and gets only praise for how well he behaves. He is a great and sensible dog, very quick to learn and will do anything he can for a treat or a ball. He also enjoys quiet moments, lying in his bed and resting or watching the surroundings. He gets along well with other dogs and female dogs. If they "sit", he likes to play with them. However, he does not like large groups of dogs - for him, 1 to 2 dogs are ideal. If there is a calm female dog in the house, he would be very happy. However, Bendžo guards his things quite a bit - his food bowl, toys and dog bed. In these situations, the person needs to be careful and aware that he needs space and should not be disturbed. With a skilled and attentive approach, handling is trouble-free. When he knows the person, he allows them to check his paws, look into his eyes or clean his ears. He does not like to be lifted up - then he might growl, but if he has trust, he won't bite. For veterinary procedures, we recommend putting a muzzle on him. If you behave according to his rules, you can consider him a low-maintenance dog. It is probably the result of poor socialization in puppyhood. Of course, it can be improved through training, but certainly we recommend him only to more experienced people for now. Definitely not suitable for children. Nevertheless, Bendžo has changed a lot since arriving and is making progress - he is definitely a dog who deserves his chance. Bendžo is looking for an experienced and patient home, suitable also for older people. Ideally, the home should have a house with full access to the yard, but he can also get used to an apartment.

Bendžo sa našiel pri ceste medzi obcami Jasov a Rudník, kde na tom istom mieste čakal minimálne dva dni. Všetci vieme, čo to znamená… že ho tam niekto vyhodil. Bendžo je taký voľnomyšlienkár a pravdepodobne bol aj samorast. Je to aktívny psík, ktorý zbožňuje aportovanie a život bez loptičky je nemožný – sú jeho stredobodom vesmíru. Pekne loptičku nosí a čaká, kým mu ju človek opäť hodí. S novými ľuďmi je hneď kamarát a nemá problém sa nechať hladkať a ísť na prechádzku. Je to obľúbenec na venčení v útulku – na vodítku chodí pekne a dostáva samé pochvaly, ako pekne sa správa. Je to úžasný a rozumný psík, veľmi rýchlo sa učí a za pamlsok alebo loptičku urobí všetko, čo dokáže. Užíva si aj pokojné chvíle, keď si leží v peliešku a oddychuje či sleduje okolie. So psami a fenkami vychádza bez problémov. Ak si „sadnú“, rád sa s nimi aj pohrá. Nemá však rád veľké skupinky psov – pre neho sú ideál 1 až 2 psíkovia. Ak by bola v domove pohodová fenočka, bude veľmi rád. Bendžo si však dosť stráži svoje veci – misku s jedlom, hračky aj pelech. V týchto situáciách musí byť človek obozretný a vedomý si toho, že mu treba dopriať priestor a nerušiť ho. So skúseným a vnímavým prístupom je manipulácia bezproblémová. Keď už človeka pozná, nechá si pozrieť labky, kvapkať očká či čistiť ušká. Nepáči sa mu však dvíhanie na ruky – vtedy si môže zahundrať, no ak má dôveru, nekusne. Pri veterinárnych úkonoch odporúčame nasadiť mu košík. Ak sa k nemu správate podľa jeho pravidiel, môžete ho považovať za bezproblémového psíka. Pravdepodobne ide o dôsledok zanedbanej socializácie v šteniatkovskom veku. Samozrejme, dá sa to cvičením zlepšiť, no určite ho zatiaľ odporúčame len ku skúsenejším ľuďom. Rozhodne nie je vhodný k deťom. Každopádne Bendžo sa od príchodu veľmi zmenil a robí pokroky – určite je to psík, ktorý si zaslúži svoju šancu. Bendžo si hľadá skúsený a trpezlivý domov, vhodný aj ku starším ľuďom. Domov si hľadá ideálne pri domčeku s úplným prístupom dnu, no zvykne si aj na byt.
