Border Collie Grunon – looking for people who see beyond his color Grunon is a beautiful Border Collie with the striking and very popular merle coloring. His unique appearance naturally draws attention – but that's exactly why one thing is very important to us: he should not be chosen because of his color, but because his people consciously decide for him and the needs of a Border Collie. Border Collies are intelligent, sensitive and hardworking dogs that want to be physically, but especially mentally, occupied. Grunon is therefore looking for people who enjoy learning with their dog, giving him meaningful tasks and at the same time providing him with the necessary peace and security in everyday life. The merle coloring should never be a selection criterion for a dog. The merle gene can – especially with certain genetic constellations – be associated with health problems, including in the area of hearing and vision. Even if he is outwardly simply beautiful, we consciously want to raise awareness that behind a special fur color is always a living being with individual needs. For Grunon, we therefore wish for a home that falls in love with his character and not just his color. People who know that a Border Collie means time, patience, occupation and responsibility and are willing to go this way with him. Who gives him his heart should be aware that the decision for a dog means responsibility for many years – in the best case 15 years and longer. Grunon is not looking for spontaneous enthusiasm for a pretty merle face, but people for life.
