Heidi and Hayo were found as pups together with Helga and Hilda at a abandoned house in Romania. It is possible that Hilda is the mother of the two pups, but we are not sure. All the dogs were taken by rescuers and Heidi is now staying in the shelter in Odorheiu. Ioana tells us that Heidi was already a nice young dog then. She looked a bit like the cat out of the tree, but she became more and more free. Playing with a ball is great for Heidi and she gets along well with the other dogs in the shelter. Heidi is a gentle female who loves her familiar caregivers, but initially reacts reservedly to new people. She is in good hands in the shelter, and it is expected that with all the good care and attention she will gradually come out of her shell. Update September 2025: Heidi is gaining more confidence every day and is enjoying the walks the rescuers take with her more and more. She walks nicely on the leash and behaves perfectly. The rescuers are very proud of her. Update April 2026: In April 2026, volunteers traveled to Romania and personally met Heidi. It became clear again how she is developing step by step. Initially, she looked at things calmly and stayed a bit in the background, but as time went on, she came out more and more from her shell. When she has the space to make contact herself, she comes cautiously closer for a treat and a pat. During the walks with the rescuers, Heidi showed how much progress she has made. She bravely walked along, sniffed around curiously, and visibly enjoyed the freedom. New situations, such as passing people and cars, found her exciting, but she remained calm and handled this well. It is nice to see how Heidi grows in confidence. She remains a sensitive and cautious dog that needs time, but her development shows that with the right guidance she is gradually opening up. 💛 She has had all her vaccinations and is ready for the exciting journey to the Netherlands, to a nice adopter who will give her her golden bed. Heidi en Hayo zijn als pups samen met Helga en Hilda gevonden bij een verlaten huis in Roemenië. Mogelijk is Hilda de moeder van de twee pups, maar dat weten we niet zeker. Alle honden zijn meegenomen door rescuers en Heidi verblijft nu in de shelter in Odorheiu. Ioana vertelt ons dat Heidi toen al een leuke jonge hond was. Ze keek een beetje de kat uit de boom maar ze werd steeds vrijer. Met een balletje spelen vindt Heidi geweldig en ze kan het prima vinden met de andere honden in de shelter. Heidi is een zachtaardig teefje die gek is op haar vertrouwde verzorgers, maar bij nieuwe mensen eerst terughoudend reageert. Ze is in goede handen in de shelter, de verwachting is dat ze door alle goede zorg en aandacht meer uit haar schulp gaat kruipen. Update sep 2025 : Heidi krijgt elke dag meer zelfvertrouwen en geniet meer en meer van de wandelingen die de rescuers met haar maken. Ze loopt al keurig aan de riem en gedraagt zich perfect. De rescuers zijn heel trots op haar. Update april 2026: In april 2026 zijn vrijwilligers naar Roemenië gereisd en hebben zij Heidi persoonlijk ontmoet. Daar werd opnieuw duidelijk hoe zij zich stap voor stap ontwikkelt. In eerste instantie keek ze het even rustig aan en bleef ze wat op de achtergrond, maar naarmate de tijd vorderde kwam ze steeds meer uit haar schulp. Wanneer ze de ruimte krijgt om zelf contact te maken, komt ze voorzichtig dichterbij voor een koekje en een aaitje. Tijdens de wandelingen met de rescuers liet Heidi zien hoeveel vooruitgang ze heeft geboekt. Ze liep dapper mee, snuffelde nieuwsgierig rond en begon zichtbaar te genieten van de vrijheid. Nieuwe situaties, zoals passerende mensen en auto’s, vond ze spannend, maar ze bleef rustig en pakte dit knap op. Het is mooi om te zien hoe Heidi groeit in zelfvertrouwen. Ze blijft een gevoelige en voorzichtige hond die tijd nodig heeft, maar haar ontwikkeling laat zien dat ze met de juiste begeleiding steeds meer openbloeit. 💛 Ze heeft alle vaccinaties gehad en is klaar voor de spannende reis naar Nederland, naar een fijne adoptant bij wie zij haar gouden mandje krijgt.
