Mert (male) 🎂 Approximate birthday: May 2026 📌 Location: Cyprus, on PS 🏡 Living situation: no unsecured outdoor access, no solitary housing Hello, I am Mert! One day I was standing next to a trash can 🗑️ looking for something edible. I was alone, hungry and hoping for help. But then someone saw me and took me in, which completely changed my life. Now I live in safety, have enough food and am cared for. I have discovered how wonderful it is to sleep in a soft and warm bed 🛏️... and the delicious food 🥘 first! And there are always friendly hands 🙌 nearby to gently stroke me. Sometimes I wonder what my life will be like in 1 year. Maybe I will have a favorite spot on the windowsill 🪟 or a sofa 🛋️ where my humans sit next to me and smile at me kindly because they love me 🥰. I don't want anything extraordinary, just a normal life filled with love 🧡. That would be my greatest wish! 🙏🏼 My journey to you will be accompanied by a microchip, vaccinations, FiV/FelV testing and an EU pet passport. ----------------------------------------------------------- Who are the heroes behind Heroes for Cyprus Cats We at Heroes for Cyprus Cats are a dedicated team of animal lovers from Cyprus, Germany, Austria and Switzerland who are committed to the welfare of street cats in Cyprus. Our goal is to improve the lives of these cats sustainably. Our local team in Cyprus feeds, neuters and cares for sick or injured cats on the streets and in colonies. If necessary, we bring them to foster families where they wait in a safe environment for their family. We also maintain a strong online presence, handle inquiries from adopters and provide support at the airport. Street cats in Cyprus suffer greatly and are often victims of car accidents or cruel mistreatment. Many simply starve or die from diseases that are not treated. We save them from this sad fate and work tirelessly to find a loving, safe home for our rescued cats. We place great value on a collegial, transparent and respectful relationship within our team and with potential adopters. For us, adopting a cat is just the beginning. We are committed to supporting our rescued cats and their new families for a lifetime. Together we make a difference, for every single cat.
