Niedawno dowiedzieliśmy się, że hodowca został eksmitowany ze swojej ziemi, a jego 33 psy były zagrożone. Udało mu się znaleźć nowy dom dla 15 psów, a my wraz z dwoma innymi organizacjami ratowniczymi zaoferowaliśmy przyjęcie pozostałych 18 psów. Hodowca przywiózł je na północ Hiszpanii, a SeBPRA przyjęło 11 psów. Wszystkie są psami rasowymi i były wykorzystywane do polowań, hodowli i wystaw. Kilka psów ma tytuły Championów i certyfikat PAN (Prueba de Aptitudes Naturales (Natural Aptitudes Test), oficjalna ocena w terenie, która ocenia naturalne instynkty łowieckie psa i jest zwykle obowiązkowa przed zgłoszeniem psa na wystawę Championów. POKER DEL MATOCHAR 11/09/14 (Fanch de Saint Lubin x Asia de Tomecon) Campeon de España Morfologia 2019 (Spanish Morphology Champion 2019) Poker is a lovely older Brittany, he is eleven years old, although you would not know it, he is still very active, his date of birth is 11/09/2014. Poker is an impressive boy, he is a large, robustly built Brittany, very active and energetic. He loves to run in the enclosure. He is affectionate with people, although quite independent. He obeys when called within the confines of the shelter and is easy to handle. Poker always has a good appetite. He is sociable with other dogs, although he doesn’t interact with them. He is more friendly with females dogs than with males. He could be a good only dog with lots of human companionship, or a home with other dogs. Poker comes from a Brittany breeder near Madrid. We recently heard that the breeder was being evicted from his land and his 33 Brittanys were at risk. He managed to rehome 15 of the dogs and together with two other rescues we offered to take the remaining 18 dogs. The breeder brought them up to the north of Spain and SeBPRA took on 11 of the Brittanys. All are pedigree dogs, and they will have been used for hunting, breeding and showing. Several of the dogs have Champion titles and PAN certification (Prueba de Aptitudes Naturales (Natural Aptitudes Test), an official field evaluation that assesses a dog’s natural hunting instincts and is usually mandatory before a dog can claim a Champion show title. It ensures that dual purpose breeds still retain the working breed qualities. We know Poker, Roma, Tormenta, Xiloe, and Xirius have been shown, however the Brittany is a true dual purpose breed, so these dogs are just as likely to have been out hunting last weekend as in the show ring.
