She loves people of all ages and is especially sweet and playful with children. Sally’s favourite thing is attention, and she’ll happily soak up fuss, strokes, and playtime with her humans. On walks, Sally can be occasionally reactive if close to home, but her attention can be quickly returned back to her human. When walking further from home, Sally shows no interest towards other dogs. She travels well in the car and adores being out and about. Sally has met other dogs and gets along well with them, though she does prefer to have her own space. She can sometimes get jealous if she’s enjoying affection and another dog comes over, but she’s otherwise relaxed and even sleeps alongside her foster siblings. Sally no longer experiences separation anxiety and can be left happily for up to four hours. She absolutely loves toys and likes to lay them all out on the floor before deciding which one to play with! This clever girl has mastered her toilet training, lead walking, and stairs, and she enjoys both short daily walks and longer weekend adventures in the forest or at the beach. Her fosters use hand signals for training as Sally is deaf but she quickly learns their meaning. Missing her right eye doesn’t hinder her daily life or wellbeing, nor is it expected to cause future issues. Sally can not be allowed off lead in public places due to her deafness. Sally could live with another calm, independent dog, but she would also thrive as an only dog where she gets all the attention she adores. She’d be happiest with someone home most of the time to keep her company, though she can be left for up to four hours. Though she hasn't lived with cats, her neutral behaviour towards small dogs suggests she could coexist with respectful cats following gradual introductions. She could also live with children aged 9+ who understand her hearing limitations and are aware of her blind side.
