Unfortunately, he was not marked, so we have to assume that he was abandoned there in the forest. Tiki is a friendly, affectionate and cuddly cat who needs a lot of attention. Unfortunately, this breed is a so-called animal cruelty, in which significant bone and cartilage damage can develop over the course of life due to the dominant inherited OCD gene (which is responsible for the folded ears) which requires permanent treatment with painkillers. Unfortunately, it is not possible to predict whether and when this will happen to Tiki. Currently, Tiki fortunately still has no symptoms here. Unfortunately, his nose was bred so short and narrow that he has a permanent snorting breathing sound and has difficulty, especially in heat. It makes us angry and sad that people continue to breed such cats and that there are people who buy this breed because of the "cute ears" without informing themselves beforehand. Tiki can do nothing about the fact that he was bred this way and he is now urgently looking for a loving home with people who take him as he is, who do not mind his snorting and who are willing to provide him with veterinary care if joint problems with pain should occur. Scottish Fold * ca. 2024 – grau – männlich – kastriert Wohnungshaltung mit gesichertem Balkon Verträglichkeit mit Artgenossen noch unbekannt Sonstiges: Schnorchelnde Atemgeräusche aufgrund zu kurzer und enger Nase, Qualzucht im Tierheim seit: 07/2026 Tiki wurde an einer Landstraße am Waldrand abseits von bewohnter Gegend aufgefunden. Leider war er nicht gekennzeichnet, so dass wir wohl davon ausgehen müssen, dass er dort am Wald ausgesetzt wurde. Tiki ist ein zutraulicher, anhänglicher und verschmuster Kater, der viel Aufmerksamkeit braucht. Leider handelt es sich bei dieser Rasse um eine sogenannte Qualzucht, bei welcher sich durch das dominant vererbte OCD-Gen (welches für die Faltohren verantwortlich ist) im Laufe des Lebens erhebliche Knochen- und Knorpelschäden entwickeln können welche eine dauerhafte Behandlung mit Schmerzmittel nötig machen. Ob und wann dies bei Tiki passieren wird, lässt ich leider nicht vorhersagen. Aktuell hat Tiki hier glücklicherweise noch keine Symptome. Leider wurde bei ihm aber die Nase so kurz und eng gezüchtet, dass er ein dauerhaftes schnorchelndes Atemgeräusch hat und sich vor allem bei Hitze schwer tut. Es macht uns wütend und traurig, dass Menschen weiterhin solche Katzen vermehren und dass es Menschen gibt, welche diese Rasse aufgrund der „goldigen Ohren“ kaufen ohne sich vorher zu informieren. Tiki kann nichts dafür, dass er so gezüchtet wurde und er sucht nun dringend ein liebevolles Zuhause bei Menschen, die ihn so nehmen wie er ist, die sich nicht an seinem Schnorcheln stören und die bereit sind, ihn tierärztlich versorgen zu lassen falls irgendwann auch bei ihm Gelenkprobleme mit Schmerzen auftreten sollten.
