Tara 08/2021 | female Hallihallo, I am Tara. I have grown quite a bit since I arrived here. That's often the case with us shelter dogs – it's hard to say exactly how big we will get. Well, one thing is for sure – I have a very big heart! I am typically young and very active, and I would love to be kept busy. Additionally, I love to be cuddled. I haven't learned much about the world yet and still have a lot to learn. Unfortunately, I have a problem with my hip. I need to be operated on soon. The two-legged ones call it Femurkopfresektion. This will be done on my left leg first and it costs a lot of money. I have found a foster home where I can recover after the operation, but I would be very grateful if you could help cover the costs for the operation and physiotherapy! Will you help me get well so I can play around like the others – without pain? Tara with a few months Tara & Anton Update 16.01.2023: I have already been operated on – even twice, because my bone fought back after the first time and formed a capsule that caused me pain. The second time was much better! I am already using my leg a bit. Of course, I have lost a lot of muscle mass after such a long time and now I have to work on that. On Wednesday, I will be the first to use the underwater treadmill. My foster family is curious to see who will drink more water… me or them? I will report back… Tara freshly operated on Update March 2023: At first, the water thing was really scary for me. First, I have to be lifted on a kind of elevator, then over to the treadmill, and then lowered back into the water. Now I find it really good, I can't wait, and would love to jump in a single bound. With liverwurst, the walking is better. First time in the water on the treadmill strange device – that's why not so deep in the water Update May 2023: The training every week is paying off: my muscles are coming back, and my leg is almost back to normal. Update June 2023: I am currently on vacation with my pack and will take some time to recover before the right side is operated on in July. Yes, unfortunately: all of this again on the other side. I hope that this time it will work right away, and I will be able to run and play without restrictions in a few weeks! Cross my fingers and paws!!! And if you have a few euros for my health, I would be very happy! With Bessy, we almost always sunbathe under our favorite bush with Bessy Update January 2024: Now I haven't heard from me for a long time. In July last year, the second side with the Femurkopfresektion was operated on as planned. This time, it took me a long time to use my leg properly, but with extra physiotherapy and my beloved underwater treadmill, it worked! I run, jump (!!!), and play like my dog friends! It finally doesn't hurt anymore, and so it's fun! A vet once said that a greyhound could be in my ancestry. Frauchen back then only looked at me in disbelief. I saw it very clearly. But now! Now she believes it too. I run as fast as no other dog in my pack. She also believes that a kangaroo might be in me – I have no idea why? The operations are now history for me, but the underwater treadmill still serves me well (thankfully). Thank you to all who have helped so far to cover my costs! Tara 08/2021 | weiblich Hallihallo, ich Tara. Ich bin ganz schön gewachsen seit ich hier ankam. Das ist bei uns Tierschutzhunden oft mal so – so ganz genau kann man das nie sagen, wie groß wir werden. Naja, eins ist sicher – ich habe ein gaaanz großes Herz! Ich bin junghundetypisch aktiv und möchte gerne beschäftigt werden. Außerdem lass ich mich gerne durchknuddeln. Ich kenne noch nicht viel von der Welt & muss vieles erst lernen. Ich habe leider ein Problem mit meiner Hüfte. Ich muss bald operiert werden. Die Zweibeiner nennen es Femurkopfresektion. Das wird nun erstmal an meinem linken Bein gemacht & kostet viel Geld. Eine Pflegestelle wo ich mich nach der Operation erholen darf habe ich gefunden, allerdings wäre ich sehr dankbar, wenn Ihr mithelfen könntet, die Kosten für die Operation & die Physiotherapie mitzutragen! Helft Ihr mir wieder gesund zu werden, damit ich so rumtoben kann wie die anderen – ohne Schmerzen? Tara mit wenigen Monaten Tara & Anton Update 16.01.2023: Inzwischen bin ich operiert – sogar schon zwei Mal, weil mein Knochen sich beim ersten Mal „gewehrt“ hat & eine Kapsel gebildet hat, die mir Schmerzen bereitet hat. Das zweite Mal war alles viel besser! Ich benutze mein Bein schon ab & zu. Natürlich habe ich nach der langen Zeit kaum noch Muskeln & muss jetzt daran arbeiten. Am Mittwoch gehe ich das erste Mal auf das Unterwasserlaufband. Meine Pflegefamilie ist gespannt, wer mehr Wasser abbekommen wird… Sie oder ich? Ich werde wieder berichten… Tara frisch operiert Update März 2023: Anfangs war die Sache mit dem Wasser wirklich gruselig für mich. Erst muss ich auf eine Art Aufzug, werde hochgefahren, soll dann rüber auf das Laufband & werde wieder runter ins Wasser gelassen. Inzwischen finde ich es richtig gut, kann es kaum abwarten & würde am liebsten in einem Satz hochspringen. mit Leberwurst geht das Laufen besser Das erste Mal im Wasser auf dem Laufband unheimliches Gerät – deshalb noch nicht so tief im Wasser Update Mai 2023: Das Trainieren jede Woche macht sich bezahlt: meine Muskeln kommen zurück & mein Bein ist fast wieder normal. Update Juni 2023: Gerade mache ich Urlaub mit meinem Rudel & erhole mich nochmal richtig, bevor im Juli die rechte Seite operiert wird. Ja leider: das Ganze nochmal von vorne auf der anderen Seite. Ich hoffe sehr, dass es dieses Mal gleich richtig klappt & ich dann in ein paar Wochen ganz normal laufen & toben kann ohne Einschränkungen! Drückt mir die Daumen & Pfoten!!! Und wenn ihr paar Euro für meine Gesundheit übrig habt freue ich mich sehr! mit Bessy geht fast alles Sonnenbad im Urlaub unter dem Lieblingsbusch mit Bessy Update Januar 2024: Jetzt habe ich lange nichts mehr von mir hören lassen. Im Juli letztes Jahr war dann wie geplant die zweite Seite mit der Femurkopfresektion dran. Ich tat mich dieses Mal lange schwer das Bein ordentlich zu benutzen, aber mit extra viel Physiotherapie und dem von mir so heiß geliebten Unterwasserlaufband hat es geklappt! Ich laufe & springe (!!!!) & tobe wie meine Hundefreunde! Es tut endlich nichts mehr weh und so macht es mir Spaß! Ein Tierarzt hat mal gesagt, bei mir könnte ein Windhund ein Vorfahr sein. Frauchen hat damals nur ganz ungläubig geschaut. Ich hab das ganz genau gesehen. Aber jetzt! Jetzt glaubt sie es auch. Ich renne soooo schnell wie kein anderer Hund in meinem Rudel. Sie glaubt allerdings auch dass Känguruh in mir stecken könnte – keine Ahnung warum? Die Operationen sind nun endgültig Geschichte für mich, aber das Unterwasserlaufband bleibt mir noch erhalten (zum Glück). Danke an alle, die bislang geholfen haben, die Kosten für mich zu stemmen!
