For three years, Aphrodite has lived behind shelter bars—three years of hope that someone would see her. Not just the beautiful female dog with the wolfish gaze, but the soul behind it—cautious, gentle, and yet so strong. Aphrodite lives up to her name: A "Goddess of Love," who has never experienced love herself. No one knows where she was born—perhaps on the street, perhaps she was abandoned. Her gaze tells of disappointment, but also of longing. Longing for closeness, for a hand that slowly approaches and does not strike but strokes. At the shelter, Aphrodite has learned to survive. But not to live. She observes people attentively, sniffs cautiously, sometimes ventures a small bit of closeness—and then pulls back. But the wonderful female dog is making great progress. Now she allows herself to be gently stroked and even takes treats from her hand. She wants to trust, but she needs time. Time and people who accept her exactly as she is. With her approximate age of 5 years and a shoulder height of about 50 cm, Aphrodite is a medium-sized female dog—her light, cloud-like fur, the gentle brown eyes, and her graceful appearance remind one of a small wolf. Probably a hint of Husky flows through her veins—clever, independent, sensitive. With other dogs, Aphrodite is particularly social and likes to follow their lead. A confident only dog could give her security in a new home and help her adapt to life outside the shelter. What Aphrodite needs now are people with hearts, experience, and patience who understand that trust must grow. People who can show her, without pressure, that life can be more than fear and confinement. A quiet home, ideally in the countryside, would be perfect for her. When Aphrodite one day understands that she has arrived, that she is safe—then she will open up. Gently, carefully. And perhaps, after so many years, she will finally be what her name promises: A Goddess of Love who can be loved and who can love. Maybe you are the person who sees her. Ihre Geschichte: Drei Jahre. So lange schon lebt Aphrodite hinter Sheltergittern – drei Jahre voller Hoffnung, dass irgendwann jemand sie sieht. Nicht nur die hübsche Hündin mit dem wölfischen Blick, sondern die Seele dahinter – vorsichtig, sanft und doch so stark. Aphrodite trägt ihren Namen zu Recht: Eine „Göttin der Liebe“, die selbst noch nie Liebe erfahren durfte. Niemand weiß, wo sie geboren wurde – vielleicht auf der Straße, vielleicht wurde sie ausgesetzt. Ihr Blick erzählt von Enttäuschung, aber auch von Sehnsucht. Sehnsucht nach Nähe, nach einer Hand, die sich langsam nähert und nicht schlägt, sondern streichelt. Im Shelter hat Aphrodite gelernt, zu überleben. Aber nicht zu leben. Sie beobachtet die Menschen aufmerksam, schnuppert vorsichtig, wagt manchmal ein kleines Stück Nähe – und zieht sich dann wieder zurück. Doch die tolle Hündin macht große Fortschritte. Mittlerweile lässt sie sich vorsichtig streicheln und nimmt auch Leckerlies aus der Hand. Sie möchte vertrauen, aber sie braucht Zeit. Zeit und Menschen, die sie genau so annehmen, wie sie ist. Mit ihren etwa 5 Jahren und einer Schulterhöhe von rund 50 cm ist Aphrodite eine mittelgroße Hündin – ihr helles, wolkiges Fell, die sanften braunen Augen und ihre anmutige Erscheinung erinnern an eine kleine Wölfin. Wahrscheinlich fließt in ihren Adern ein Hauch Husky – klug, eigenständig, sensibel. Mit anderen Hunden ist Aphrodite ausgesprochen sozial und orientiert sich gerne an ihnen. Ein souveräner Ersthund könnte ihr in einem neuen Zuhause Sicherheit geben und ihr helfen, sich an das Leben außerhalb des Shelters zu gewöhnen. Was Aphrodite jetzt braucht sind Menschen mit Herz, Erfahrung und Geduld, die verstehen, dass Vertrauen wachsen muss. Menschen, die ihr ohne Druck zeigen, dass das Leben mehr sein kann als Angst und Enge. Ein ruhiges Zuhause, idealerweise ländlich gelegen, wäre perfekt für sie. Wenn Aphrodite eines Tages begreift, dass sie angekommen ist, dass sie sicher ist – dann wird sie sich öffnen. Ganz leise, ganz behutsam. Und vielleicht wird sie dann, nach so vielen Jahren, endlich das sein, was ihr Name verspricht: Eine Göttin der Liebe, die lieben darf – und geliebt wird. Vielleicht bist du der Mensch, der sie sieht. Aphrodite reist kastriert, gechipt, geimpft, entwurmt und entfloht mit einem EU-Heimtierausweis in ihr neues Zuhause.
