Alf is a nearly five-year-old German Wirehaired Pointer (*12.06.2021), who was neutered about one and a half years ago. He shows an overall dominant character and is not always uncomplicated when dealing with other dogs. However, he gets along well with calm, neutral dogs. Overall, he would prefer to be kept as a single dog. There have been no biting incidents or problems in the hunting field so far. Alf is very passionate about hunting, although his composure still needs improvement. Nevertheless, he has completed all hunts reliably and well. Alf shows great concentration and endurance particularly during the retrieval. He has mainly been used on drive hunts and has a solid hunting training. He has successfully completed the HZP, suitability, youth search, association scent test, and the bringing back loyalty. He appears open, friendly, and very leader-oriented towards people. He is not suitable for a household with small children. Alf is accustomed to living in the house; however, being left alone still needs further practice. He also knows a kennel for hours, but tends to bark more there. Alf needs an experienced dog handler who works with him consistently but not too harshly, as he does question boundaries. Alf ist ein fast fünfjähriger Deutsch-Drahthaar-Rüde (*12.06.2021), der vor etwa anderthalb Jahren kastriert wurde. Er zeigt einen insgesamt dominanten Charakter und ist im Umgang mit anderen Hunden nicht immer unkompliziert. Mit ruhigen, neutralen Hunden kommt er jedoch gut zurecht. Grundsätzlich möchte er jedoch lieber als Einzelhund gehalten werden. Im jagdlichen Einsatz gab es bislang keine Beißereien oder Probleme. Alf ist sehr passioniert auf der Jagd, wobei an seiner Ruhe noch gearbeitet werden sollte. Dennoch hat er bisher alle Jagden zuverlässig und gut absolviert. Besonders in der Nachsuche zeigt er sich konzentriert und ausdauernd. Alf wurde überwiegend auf Treibjagden geführt und verfügt über eine solide jagdliche Ausbildung. Er hat die HZP, die Brauchbarkeit, die Jugendsuche, die Verbandsschweißprüfung sowie die Bringtreue erfolgreich absolviert. Menschen gegenüber zeigt er sich offen, freundlich und sehr Führer bezogen. Für einen Haushalt mit kleinen Kindern ist er nicht geeignet. Alf ist das Leben im Haus gewohnt; das Alleine bleiben muss jedoch noch weiter geübt werden. Einen Zwinger kennt er ebenfalls stundenweise, neigt dort jedoch zu vermehrtem Bellen. Alf benötigt einen erfahrenen Hundeführer, der konsequent, aber nicht zu hart mit ihm arbeitet, da er Grenzen durchaus hinterfragt.
