When violent storms with heavy rain caused the river to overflow, the shed was flooded. The dogs managed to escape, thus no longer in immediate danger, but were trapped on the fenced property, without food or care. Our Spanish animal protectors became aware of the situation. The owner stated that he no longer had any use for the dogs, but refused to give them up. Only after several attempts were the dogs brought to safety. At that time, Garou had a large, severely infected wound on his chest, with the tissue partially already necrotic. The Gitano originally only wanted to give up a female dog. Our animal protectors did not give up, and he eventually saw: "Take him with you, he will be killed by other dogs otherwise." Garou is a quiet, friendly, and very social dog. He quickly builds trust, seeks the company of humans, and prefers to stay close to his trusted people. On the leash, he goes calmly and quietly, always close to his human. If left alone, he whines a little, not out of fear but out of insecurity. Nearness gives him security without being pushy. Garou likes people very much and needs contact and attention. He is cheerful, affectionate, and kind, running and playing with other dogs, but he is also very sensitive: If a fellow animal barks or pressures him, he becomes insecure and retreats. He does not like this and clearly shows that he wants to be let off the leash immediately. He seeks harmonious coexistence, not confrontation. With compatible dogs, he gets along very well and is a pleasant, social companion. Garou wishes for people who allow him to be as much a part of their everyday life as possible, fully integrated, belonging. A confident dog companion, male or female, can be present already, because Garou likes to orient himself to other dogs and benefits from a calm, established role model. His visual impairment is not something he talks about. For him, the world is as it should be. His new home should meet him in the same way: open, welcoming, without pity, with loving attention. Garou moves confidently, enjoys walking, playing, and jumping, and shows: I manage well. How was that again? Only the heart sees rightly. Garou is looking for the person who wants to live with him. Garou's health is regularly checked by a veterinarian, with comprehensive laboratory analyses conducted, and she is fully vaccinated, including rabies protection. Als heftige Unwetter mit Starkregen den Fluss über die Ufer treten ließen, wurde der Verschlag überflutet. Die Hunde konnten sich befreien, waren damit zwar außer Gefahr, aber auf dem eingezäunten Grundstück gefangen, ohne Futter, ohne Versorgung. Unsere spanischen Tierschützerinnen wurden auf die Situation aufmerksam.Der Halter erklärte, er habe keine Verwendung mehr für die Hunde, aber er weigerte sich dennoch, sie abzugeben. Erst nach mehreren Anläufen gelang es, die Hunde in Sicherheit zu bringen. Garou hatte zu diesem Zeitpunkt eine große, stark entzündete Wunde am Brustkorb, das Gewebe teilweise bereits abgestorben. Der Gitano wollte ursprünglich nur eine Hündin abgeben. Unsere Tierschützerinnen ließen nicht locker und er sah schließlich ein: „Nehmt ihn mit, der wird sonst sowieso totgebissen.” Garou ist ein ruhiger, freundlicher und sehr sozialer Hund. Er fasst schnell Vertrauen, sucht die Nähe zum Menschen und bleibt gern bei seinen Bezugspersonen. An der Leine geht er entspannt und ruhig, immer nah bei seinem Menschen. Wenn er allein gelassen wird, jammert er ein wenig, nicht aus Angst, eher aus Unsicherheit. Nähe gibt ihm Sicherheit, ohne dass er dabei aufdringlich wird. Garou mag Menschen sehr und braucht Kontakt und Aufmerksamkeit. Er ist fröhlich, liebevoll und gutmütig, er rennt gerne und spielt mit anderen Hunden, aber er ist auch sehr sensibel: Wenn ein Artgenosse ihn anbellt oder bedrängt, wird er unsicher und zieht sich zurück. Das mag er gar nicht und macht deutlich, dass er sofort den Auslauf evrlassen möchte. Er sucht das harmonische Miteinander, nicht die Konfrontation.Mit verträglichen Hunden kommt er sehr gut zurecht und ist ein angenehmer, sozialer Gefährte. Garou wünscht sich Menschen, bei denen er möglichst viel dabei sein darf, mittendrin im Alltag, eingebunden, dazugehörend. Ein souveräner Hundegefährte, männlich oder weiblich, darf gern schon da sein, denn Garou orientiert sich gern an anderen Hunden und profitiert von einem ruhigen, gefestigten Vorbild. Seine Seheinschränkung macht er selbst nicht zum Thema. Für ihn ist die Welt in Ordnung, so wie sie ist. Sein neues Zuhause sollte ihm genauso begegnen: offen, zugewandt, ohne Mitleid, mit liebevoller Achtsamkeit. Garou bewegt sich souverän, geht gerne spazieren, spielt und springt und zeigt bei alldem: Ich komme gut zurecht. Wie war das nochmal ? Man sieht nur mit dem Herzen gut. Garou sucht den Menschen, der das mit ihm leben möchte. Gesundheit Garou wird regelmäßig tierärztlich kontrolliert, umfangreiche Laboranalysen liegen vor und sie ist mehrfach geimpft, inklusive Tollwutschutz. Bei seiner Ankunft im Tierheim hatte Garou eine große, offene Wunde am Brustkorb, die sofort chirurgisch versorgt werden musste. Er verfügt vermutlich noch über ein gewisses Restsehvermögen und kann Umrisse und Schatten erkennen. Er orientiert sich bemerkenswert sicher in seiner Umgebung.
