His story: Gimli and his siblings Odo, Amir, Ferdinand, Franz, Kiri, Siska, Feline, Malia, and Lidy had a truly difficult start in life. Their mother, Fee, gave birth to the litter in an abandoned house in a village near Zalau. The neighborhood found out and wanted to kill the puppies. Our animal rescuer Sonia saved the mother and the ten puppies and brought them to her home in the garden. As the puppies grew very quickly and Sonia could only keep them until mid-February, the little ones are desperately in need of a home. Even though one might suspect Gimli to be a dwarf, he will likely grow into a large dog. He already weighs a proud 8 kg on the scale. His mother is 63 cm tall. Additionally, he seems to be the inventor of the loyal dog gaze. When the brown fur ball with black accents, the white snout, and white paws looks into the camera, one simply can't help but be moved. Gimli is typical for a puppy. He loves people and enjoys being petted. Whether he also likes his fellow animals, we don't know for sure. He must of course still get used to being on a leash and wearing a collar, but that shouldn't be a problem. Gimli is looking for people who won't have too many expectations of him and will show him how a normal dog life works. He is still a baby and has a lot to learn. Sometimes he might make a little mess, but we shouldn't take it personally and should always guide Gimli with a positive training style. He is looking forward to his new life with nature walks, lots of snuggling, and also a visit to puppy school. In the first year of life, puppies should not be left alone as much as possible. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the little rascals' lives upside down. They "forget" a lot of what they have learned and their ears are on full alert. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to consistently – but lovingly – train. But there is also good news: It is only a phase, and it will pass! Gimli travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, with his EU pet passport in his luggage. Seine Geschichte: Gimli und seine Geschwister Odo, Amir, Ferdinand, Franz, Kiri, Siska, Feline, Malia und Lidy hatten wahrlich keinen einfachen Start ins Leben. Seine Mutter Fee brachte die Welpenschar in einem verlassenen Haus in einem Dorf in der Nähe von Zalau zur Welt. Die Nachbarschaft erfuhr davon und wollte die Welpen töten. Unsere Tierschützerin Sonia rettete die Mutter und die zehn Welpen und brachte sie bei sich zu Hause im Garten unter. Da die Welpen sehr schnell wachsen und Sonia sie nur bis Mitte Februar behalten kann suchen die Kleinen dringend ein Zuhause. Auch wenn man hinter Gimli einen Zwerg vermutet, wird er wohl mal eher ein großer Hund werden. Er bringt auch schon ein stolzes Gewicht von 8 kg auf die Waage. Seine Mutter hat eine Größe von 63 cm. Außerdem ist er scheinbar der Erfinder des treuen Hundeblicks. Wenn das braune Fellbündel mit den schwarzen Farbakzenten, dem weißen Latz und den weißen Pfoten in die Kamera schaut, muss man einfach schwach werden. Gimli ist welpentypisch verspielt. Er mag Menschen sehr und lässt sich gerne streicheln. Auch seine Artgenossen mag er, ob das auch für Katzen gilt, wissen wir nicht. An Leine und Geschirr muss er natürlich noch gewöhnt werden, das sollte aber kein Problem sein. Gimli sucht Menschen, die erstmal nichts von ihm erwarten und ihm zeigen, wie ein normales Hundeleben funktioniert. Er ist noch ein Baby und muss noch viel lernen. Das ein oder andere Malheur sollte man ihm nicht übelnehmen und Gimli stets mit einem positiv verstärkenden Erziehungsstil begleiten. Er freut sich schon auf sein neues Leben mit schönen Spaziergängen in der Natur, vielen Schmusestunden und auch auf einen Besuch in der Welpenschule. Im ersten Lebensjahr sollten Welpen so wenig wie möglich alleine sein. Außerdem steht die eher anstrengende Pubertätszeit bevor. Das Hormonchaos stellt das Leben der kleinen Racker auf den Kopf. Sie “vergessen” oft alles, was sie bisher gelernt haben und die Ohren schalten auf Durchzug. Daher ist es in dieser Phase besonders wichtig, konsequent – aber liebevoll – zu erziehen. Aber es gibt auch eine gute Nachricht: Es ist nur eine Phase, und die geht vorüber! Gimli reist gechipt, geimpft, entwurmt und entfloht, mit seinem EU-Heimtierausweis im Gepäck. Nach positiver Vorkontrolle kann er gegen eine Schutzgebühr von 500 Euro vermittelt werden. Aber auch über eine Pflegestelle wäre schon mal sehr, sehr hilfreich. Danke Katharina!
