21-09-26 Hooper is a very handsome gentleman who has come to us from a breeder. He can be a little on the nervous side, especially when meeting new people, but he is growing in confidence every day and we are beginning to see more of his lovely personality. Hooper is starting to trust the familiar faces he sees regularly, although he can still be unsure when someone new approaches him and may retreat to the back of his kennel where he feels safest. Hooper shares his kennel wonderfully with his doggy friends and really enjoys having them around him. He will need at least one calm and confident resident dog in his new home that he can lean on and look to for reassurance as he continues to build his confidence. Having a friendly dog by his side will be a big help to Hooper as he learns that the world isn't such a scary place. Hooper can live with older, sensible, dog-savvy teenagers aged 16+ who understand that he is a nervous boy and will give him the time and space he needs to settle in. He isn't walking on a lead yet, so his adopters will need to be patient as he learns this new skill. For Hooper, some quiet garden sniffs may be the perfect place to start while he gets used to his new surroundings before gradually building up to adventures further afield. Hooper has never lived in a home before, so there will be lots for him to learn. His adopters will need to be kind and patient as he learns about house training and all the new sights, sounds, routines and experiences that come with home life. He will need someone who understands that his progress may take time and who will allow him to move at his own pace without putting pressure on him. Hooper will need adopters with previous ex-breeding experience who understand the patience and understanding these dogs can require. He isn't going to be the sort of dog who walks straight into a new home and feels completely at ease, but we know that with the right person, he has the potential to make some amazing progress. Hooper really needs someone to take a chance on him and show him just how wonderful life can be. He is a gentle boy who is slowly learning to trust, and we hope that the right family will see the lovely dog underneath his nerves and give him the time, patience and love he deserves. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
