The scruffy senior schnauzer came to us through a stroke of bad luck. He loves playing ball with our caretakers and also his cuddle units. Whether he warms up to people quickly or remains skeptical is a matter of chemistry and vibe. His 9-year-old, dog-savvy caretaker’s daughter could immediately join him on walks. He can walk calmly and keeps looking for his person, but where it smells too good and his nose is always down left and right, he still needs some training. At home, he lived with a small male dog, and the larger male and female dogs would bark at him from behind the bars. Maybe he’s conditioned to be wary of smaller dogs, or perhaps he just hasn’t met them? During his vet visit, he still wears the “Mauli” (a German term for a muzzle), but now, during blood draw, he’s resting his head on his caretaker’s shoulder and letting the staff do their work 😉 We wish the house-trained fur ball a lot of people will take the time to get to know him with us—if the ice doesn’t melt right away—and that he finds his forever home soon. Der wuschelige Seniorrüde kam durch einen Schicksalsschlag zu uns. Er liebt das Ballspielen mit unseren Pflegerinnen und auch seine Kuscheleinheiten. Ob er bei Menschen schnell auftaut oder erst noch skeptisch ist, ist eine Frage der Chemie und Ausstrahlung. Die 9jährige, hundeverständige Tochter einer Pflegerin konnte gleich mit ihm ganz normal beim Gassi mit dabei sein. Spazierengehen kann er entspannt und er schaut auch immer wieder, wo sein Mensch ist – aber wo es zu gut riecht und seine Nase immer rechts und links unten ist 😉 , braucht er noch Erziehung. Zuhause lebte er mit einem kleinen Rüden, größere Rüden und Hündinnen meckert er hinter dem Gitter an. Vielleicht ist er auf kleinere geprägt, oder er hat sie vielleicht einfach nicht kennengelernt? Beim Tierarztbesuch trägt er zwar den „Mauli“, legt aber mittlerweile beim Blutabnehmen den Kopf auf die Schulter seiner Pflegerin und lässt das Personal machen 😉 Wir wünschen dem stubenreinen Pelzbär sehr, dass sich jemand die Zeit nimmt, ihn bei uns – wenn das Eis nicht sofort schmilzt – über eine gewisse Zeit kennenzulernen und dass er bald sein Glück für immer findet.
