Her story: Mango is an older female dog who lived with several other dogs in an apartment on the third floor with an older man. When her owner fell seriously ill and could no longer care for the animals, the neighbors asked the community for help. So Mango and the other dogs came from the animal control to us. The approximately 40 cm tall and around 12–13 kg female dog has shown herself to be quiet, friendly, and gentle so far. She does not seek trouble but rather observes from the sidelines, but she is open to people and allows closeness. She also gets along well with other dogs; her compatibility with cats has not yet been tested. Mango belongs to the dogs that no longer demand much but have so much to give. Senior dogs often bring a special calm and composure. They no longer need long walks or constant mental stimulation but are happy with routine, a soft dog bed, some attention, and simply a life with dignity. Many of them are deeply grateful when they are given a second chance. Mango has lived in a household and knows apartment life. Nevertheless, she should be given time to adjust to new routines, people, and a changed environment. Loving patience, a slow pace, and a quiet environment are particularly important so that she can settle in. Senior dogs often bring a lot of calm, experience, and a certain contentment, but they can also bring health issues or require occasional support in everyday life. Those who take her in will be rewarded with a loyal companion who simply wants to belong again. Mango travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She has an EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive match. Who will give Mango another warm home where she can arrive and simply be a dog without expectations but with lots of heart? Als ihr Besitzer schwer erkrankte und sich nicht mehr um die Tiere kümmern konnte, baten die Nachbarn die Gemeinde um Hilfe. So kam Mango zusammen mit den anderen Hunden von den Hundefängern zu uns. Die etwa 40 cm große und rund 12–13 kg schwere Hündin zeigt sich bisher ruhig, freundlich und sanft. Sie sucht keinen Trubel, sondern beobachtet lieber aus der zweiten Reihe, ist aber offen gegenüber Menschen und lässt Nähe zu. Auch mit anderen Hunden kommt sie gut zurecht, ihre Verträglichkeit mit Katzen wurde bisher nicht getestet. Mango gehört zu den Hunden, die nicht mehr viel fordern, aber umso mehr zu geben haben. Gerade Seniorenhunde bringen oft eine besondere Ruhe und Gelassenheit mit. Sie brauchen keine langen Spaziergänge mehr oder ständige Beschäftigung, sondern freuen sich über Routine, ein weiches Körbchen, etwas Ansprache und einfach ein Leben in Würde. Viele von ihnen sind tief dankbar, wenn sie noch einmal ankommen dürfen. Mango hat bisher in einem Haushalt gelebt und kennt das Leben in einer Wohnung. Dennoch sollte man ihr Zeit geben, sich an neue Abläufe, Menschen und eine veränderte Umgebung zu gewöhnen. Liebevolle Geduld, ein langsames Tempo und ein ruhiges Umfeld sind dabei besonders wichtig, damit sie zur Ruhe kommen kann. Seniorenhunde bringen oft viel Ruhe, Erfahrung und eine gewisse Genügsamkeit mit, doch auch sie können gesundheitliche Baustellen mitbringen oder benötigen hin und wieder Unterstützung im Alltag. Wer sich darauf einlässt, wird mit einer treuen Begleiterin belohnt, die einfach nur nochmal dazugehören möchte. Mango reist kastriert, gechipt, geimpft, entwurmt und entfloht. Sie besitzt einen EU-Heimtierausweis und kann nach positiver Vorkontrolle gegen eine verminderte Schutzgebühr von 500 Euro in ein liebevolles Zuhause oder auf eine passende Pflegestelle ziehen.
