Meet little Onyx, our beautiful mixed breed pup. Onyx arrived at Battersea as a stray and, as a very small pup, was briefly rehomed before coming back to us. He is a bouncy and affectionate lad who loves both humans and dogs alike. Onyx is looking for owners with some experience of large or guarding breeds, who are prepared to take on the responsibility of owning a puppy and have plenty of time to dedicate to his socialisation, confidence building and training. Although he is a small pup now, he is expected to grow into a very large, potentially giant-sized adult dog, so some research into these types of breeds would also be beneficial. Onyx loves other dogs and is a bouncy and playful boy! He could potentially live with a tolerant and confident role-model type dog that can help introduce him to the world around him and teach him some valuable life skills. He has shown no chase behaviours onsite, but was previously placed a cat and was inquisitive and confident around them, so he could also potentially live with a confident, dog-savvy cat with the right, slow introductions. He is looking for a home in any location and, as he will grow into a large breed dog, he will require his own private garden for burn-offs and training. Onyx is also currently undergoing physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to help build up his strength, so his exercise will need to be built up gradually. Onyx is an exuberant but sweet pup who could live with children aged 8+ who can play a role in his daily training. This lovely lad has a heart of gold and so much love to give. With the right guidance and support, he would make a wonderful addition to any household lucky enough to have him.
