02-10-26 Poppy is a sweet girl who has come to us from a breeder. She is happy to run around with her friends, but she would much rather enjoy a quieter life where she can relax in comfort and spend her golden years in peace. She is still keen to be as active as she can, but being an older lady, she won't need long walks and would be much happier enjoying short, gentle and sniffy walks at her own pace. Poppy isn't overly comfortable being approached just yet, but she is okay to handle once she is in your arms. She is currently being fed separately from her kennel friends as she doesn't like to share at mealtimes! She isn't aggressive about this and simply wants to make sure she gets the chance to enjoy everyone else's food too! Poppy will need a kind and friendly resident dog in her new home who she can lean on and follow as she settles into her new life. Having another dog around will help her feel more secure as she gets used to all the changes that come with life outside of the kennel. As Poppy has never lived in a home before, her adopters will need to be kind and patient as she learns all about home life, including house training. She will need a family who understands that everything will be new to her and who can give her the time she needs to settle. She can live with older, dog-savvy children aged 13+ who are sensible and allow her time to settle in. Poppy is a sweet older lady who has so much love to give and is now ready to find a quiet, loving home where she can relax, enjoy her little walks and finally live the peaceful retirement she deserves. She has had 2 teeth extracted. Poppy has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
