Cats with FIV can live alongside other FIV-positive cats as well as healthy ones, provided the animals are calm and don’t engage in aggressive fights. Only cats can get infected—so neither you nor your dog can catch it, and you won’t pass FIV on to your neighbor’s cat either. While this disease is incurable, with proper care, its progression can be halted, allowing an FIV-positive cat to live a long and happy life.
