Gabriel je středního rázu kříženec ve věku okolo osmi let. Neprošel testem na kočky. Může žít s nebo bez domácího psa. Potřebuje dospělého domov. Výborně, nemohu uvěřit, že tohle píšu o tomhle klukovi album, nemyslel jsem si nikdy, že bych to udělal…. Od samotného založení útulku byl Gabriel srdcem a duší Crivatu, byl tam převezen ještě před dokončením stavby útulku a známe a milujeme ho od doby, co jsme se poprvé potkali s ním po ukončení karantény během první návštěvy. Byl nezbytnou součástí mé rodinné léto tam před několika lety a oblíbený mezi mojí dospělými dětmi. Je speciální, nemohu vám říct proč, ale prostě je a je to člen naší rodiny. Každým koncem návštěvy, když musel opět strávit noci v krunýři, nám to dělalo bolest a plakal tři dny. Možná není nejtěžší pes a potřebuje někoho s dobrým zkušenostmi. Může být jediný pes v domě nebo může sdílet svůj domov s jiným nepríliš hluku dělajícím psem. Mohl by protestovat, když mu řeknete, aby seslezl ze židle, ale je velmi správný pro ty, kteří se s těmito problémy již dříve setkali. Je radost ho vést, nikdy nezareagoval, když uliční psi šli za námi po ulici a pokřikovali na něj, ale nepřijal velké vozy nebo nákladní automobily, které kolem něj projížděly. Není dobrý s kočkami. Tento chlap je něco zvláštního a každý, kdo ho přijme, bude mít nejvěrnějšího přítele. Žije pro své procházky a je tak vděčný za všechnu čas, který do něj vložili. Podmínky adopce Při adopci psa Safe Rescue musíte použít posuvný řetěz. To udrží vašeho psa v bezpečí: váš nový pes bude nervózní a nebude vás důvěřovat a nebudete vědět, které situace by mohly vašeho psa rozrušit. Pokud se váš pes zpanikaří, pak posuvný řetěz je jediný způsob, jak zabránit, aby se vytrhl (mnoho psova se může vytrhnout z kravice a/nebo oblasti). Bude trvat NAJMÉNĚ 3-6 měsíců, než se váš pes zavede a vy plně poznáte svého psa (delší pro nervózní psy). Posuvný řetěz musí být VŽDY používán během tohoto období zavedení. I poté, co se váš pes zavedl, je nejbezpečnější používat posuvný řetěz v situacích, kde se váš pes může strachovat (např. návštěva nových míst, kolem cizích lidí, u veterináře), a v situacích, kde mohou nastat neočekávané podněty (např. kolem ohňostrojů). Nervózní psi mohou vždy nosit posuvný řetěz jako záložní bezpečnostní opatření. Posuvný řetěz je bezpečnostní zařízení a NIKDY nesmí být používán jako nástroj tréninku. Použití řetězu k aplikaci tlaku na krk psa je škodlivé. Pokud váš pes tahejí řetěz, můžeme vám poradit s metodami tréninku, které vyhnutí škody. Jakmile se váš pes zavede, můžete zvážit použití sedačky (spolu s posuvným řetězem), pokud váš pes má rád manipulaci, když je nasazen. Většina sedaček není unikací odolná, ale sedačky se řemenem za žeber (např. Ruffwear Webmaster nebo Perfect Fit Sedadla) jsou bezpečnější. Retraktovatelné / prodlužovací řetězy nesmí být použity na naše psy. Adopce psy musí být vybrány z útulku a přepraveny rovnou domů v bezpečné ocelové bedně. Since the very building of the shelter, Gabriel was the heart and soul of Crivatu, he was moved there before the shelter was even finished being built and we have known and loved him since meeting him after lock down on our first visit there. He was an integral part of my family summer holiday there a couple of years ago and a favourite with my adult children. He is special, I can’t tell you why he is but he just is and he is family to us all. Every time we left at the end of a trip and he had to go back to spending his nights in a pen it hurt us and he cried for three days. He is perhaps not the easiest dog and he needs someone with a good level of experience. He can be the only dog in the home or he can share his home with another non too boisterous dog. He can object when told to get off furniture, but he is very manageable to anyone who has dealt with these issues before. He is a pleasure to walk, never reacted when the street dogs followed us down the street yapping at him, but he doesn’t like large vans or Lorries passing him. He is not good with cats. This boy is just something special and anyone adopting him will have the most loyal friend. He lives for his walks and is so grateful for all time put into him. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a secure metal crate.
