Manuel je středně velký labradorovský kříženec ve věku okolo tří let. Oporný vůči bezpečnému zachráněnému koťátku. Potřebuje bytícího psa. Pouze dospělé domácnosti. Manuel byl jako štěně opuštěn v místním útulku Botosani v Rumunsku a bohužel nikdy nebyl vybrán, takže tam rostl. V naší péči přišel v květnu 2025, ale zatím nebyl dostatečně sebevěrný, aby byl k adopci. Špinavé betonové podlahy a ocelové tyče znál celý život, dokud nedošel k nám ve dvou letech a nedostatek stimulace vedl ke všeobecné nedostatečné sebevěře. Trvá trochu času, než se spojí s novými lidmi, ale jakmile si získá důvěru, hledá útěchu v přítomnosti svého člověka. Dobře se shoduje s dalšími psy a bude potřebovat ještě jednoho psa nebo malou skupinku ve svém trvalém domě. Je trochu oporný vůči bezpečnému zachráněnému koťátku a bude potřebovat dospělé prostředí. Manuel bude potřebovat adoptiva s trpělivostí a zkušeností v budování důvěry a sebevěry u psa, je trochu přemýšlivý a občas se stará. Stále je oporný vůči novým lidem a novým situacím, ale je připraven pokračovat dál a naučit se více s novou rodinou. Manuel pečoval o Norwich Norfolk. Podmínky pro adopci Když adopujete psa z Safe Rescue, musíte použít uzávorový řemínek. Tím zajistíte bezpečnost vašeho psa: váš nový pes bude nervózní a nevěří vám, a vy nevíte, které situace by mohly psa rozčílit. Pokud pes zpanikaří, jediným způsobem, jak zabránit jeho útěku (mnoho psc může uniknout z obojku a/nebo sedačky) je uzávorový řemínek. Bude potřeba NEJMÉNĚ 3-6 měsíců, než se pes usadí a vy se ho plně naučíte (déle pro nervózní psy). Uzávorový řemínek musí být VŽDY používán během tohoto období usazování. I poté, co se pes usadí, je nejbezpečnější použít uzávorový řemínek v situacích, kdy se pes může ozáblit (např. navštěva nových míst, kolem neznámých lidí, u veterináře), a v situacích, kdy mohou nastat neočekávané triggerové události (např. kolem ohňostrojového večera). Nervózní psi mohou vždy nosit uzávorový řemínek jako záložní bezpečnostní opatření. Uzávorový řemínek je bezpečnostní zařízení a NIKDY nesmí být použit jako nástroj tréninku. Použití řemínku pro tlak na krk pse je škodlivé. Pokud pes táhne řemínkem, můžeme vám doporučit tréninkové metody, které zabránejí škodě. Jakmile se pes usadí, možná budete chtít zvážit použití sedačky (spolu s uzávorovým řemínkem), pokud pes bude komfortní při nasazení sedačky. Většina sedaček není unikací odolná, ale sedačky se zipem za žebrami (např. Ruffwear Webmaster nebo Perfect Fit Sedáky) jsou bezpečnější. Zdvižné / roztažné řemínky nesmí být použity na naše psy. Manuel was abandoned as a puppy in the Botosani public shelter in Romania and tragically he never got picked and therefore grew up there. He came into our care in May 2025 but wasn’t confident enough to be put up for adoption until now. The filthy concrete floors and metal bars were all he’s ever knew until he recently traveled to us at two years old and the stimulus deprivation has led to his general lack of confidence. He takes a little time to bond with new people but once his trust is earned he seeks comfort from the presence of his human. He mixes well with other dogs and will need one other dog or a small pack in his forever home. He’s a little wary of the safe rescue cat and will need an adult home environment. Manuel will need an adopter with patience and experience in building a dogs trust and confidence, he’s a bit of an over thinker and a worrier. He’s still wary of new people and new situations but he’s ready to move on and learn more with a new family. Manuel fostered Norwich Norfolk. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a secure metal crate.
