We know very little about his past, but his fear makes us believe that he may have grown up in a bad environment — or simply in a place where he received no care, love or affection. So with Oscar, we are taking things very slowly. We don’t want to pressure him. We want to give him the time he needs to understand that he is finally safe and that no one is going to hurt him.
