Winnie je malý kříženec ve věku tří až čtyř let. Winnie přišla k nám před několika lety z veřejného shelteru Radauti v Rumunsku. Přišla vyděšená, ale s časem se stala statečnou a pohodlnou malou postavou, která se líbí všem ve svém dočasném domě. Winnie stále má strach z cizích lidí a nemá ráda, když ji někdo zvedne, ale ve mnoha ohledech je klidná a jistá malá dívka, která je velmi oblíbená mezi ostatními psy ve svém dočasném domě. Winnie bude potřebovat nejméně jednoho dalšího klidného psa v pevném domově. Ráda chodí na procházky, ale stále má trochu strach z toho, když jí nadělají šňůru, ale i to se každý den zlepšuje a ona se stává méně napjatou. Winnie byla v pořádku s kočkou ze Safe Rescue. Ráda by žila v klidném prostředí bez dětí. Její noví majitelé musí poskytnout jí čas, aby se naučila důvěřovat jim, ale ona je odmění, když prozradí milou a chytrou malou vlastnost, kterou jsme měli možnost objevit. Pravidla adopce: Když si adoptujete psa z Safe Rescue, musíte použít šlápnou řetězovku. To vás ochrání: váš nový pes bude nervózní a nebude vám důvěřovat, a vy nebudete vědět, které situace mohou vašeho psa rozházet. Pokud se pes lekne, šlápnou řetězovku je jediný způsob, jak zabránit úniku psa (mnoho psů může uniknout ze sedačky a/nebo pásu). Bude trvat nejméně 3–6 měsíců, než se pes usadí a vy se ho plně naučíte znát (delší doba pro nervózní psy). Šlápnou řetězovku musíte vždy používat během tohoto období usazování. I poté, co se pes usadí, je nejbezpečnější použít šlápnou řetězovku v situacích, kdy se pes může lekat (např. návštěva nových míst, kolem nepoznaných lidí, u veterináře), a v situacích, kdy mohou nastat neočekávané triggerové body (např. kolem Vánoc). Nervózní psi mohou vždy nosit šlápnou řetězovku jako záložní bezpečnostní opatření. Šlápnou řetězovku používejte jako bezpečnostní zařízení a nikdy ji nepoužívejte jako nástroj tréninku. Použití řetězu k aplikaci tlaku na krk psa je škodlivé. Pokud pes tahá za řetěz, můžeme vám poradit s tréninkovými metodami, které způsobují neškodu. Jakmile se pes usadí, můžete zvážit použití pásu (spolu s šlápnou řetězovkou), pokud pes není nesvůj, když je na něm zapnutý. Většina pásů není úniku odolná, ale pásy s řetězem za žebrami (např. Ruffwear Webmaster nebo Perfect Fit pásy) jsou bezpečnější. Šňůry, které lze roztažit, nesmí být použity na naše psy. Adoptované psy je třeba shromáždit z rescue a dopravit přímo domů v krabici. Winnie is a small crossbreed aged three to four years old. Winnie came to us a a couple of years ago from the Radauti public shelter in Romania. She arrived terrified of everyone and everything but over time has emerged into a plucky and cheeky little character who is loved by all in her foster home. Winnie is still worried by strangers and doesn’t enjoy being picked up but in many ways is a quietly confident little girl who is very popular amongst the pack in her foster home. Winnie will need at least one other steady dog in her forever home. She enjoys her walks but is still a little worried about having her lead put on but this too is improving daily and she is becoming less tense about it. Winnie has been fine with the safe rescue cat. She would like a settled home environment with no children. Her adopters will need to allow her time to get to know and trust them but she will reward them when she reveals the sweet and clever little character that we have been privileged to uncover. Adoption Policy When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a crate. Fences and gates must be 5ft min & secure.
