Adopter A Huge Puppy Farm Intake

Hope Rescue, sammen med andre dyreværnstiftelser, blev kontaktet for at hjælpe med en fleragenturoperation til at redde over 200 kødedrengskunder, studhunde og nyfødte kuld fra en ulicensieret avler i Carmarthenshire denne weekend. Hope Rescue's dyreværns-team nåede frem til pladsen og redde 47 hunde fra de mest ødelæggende og skræmmende betingelser, de nogensinde havde set. I alt reddede de fem ammende mødre med i alt 18 kuld, fem sværende mødre og yderligere 20 voksne. Hunderne var blandt de mest populære raser, herunder Bichon Frises, Shihtzus, Cockerpoos, Cavalier Spaniels, Labrador og Cocker Spaniels. Nogle af hunderne havde brug for umiddelbar indtagelse hos dyrlægen, herunder Smarties, en Cocker Spaniel, der havde behov for behandling for alvorlige inficerede bid-årer og alvorlig øreinfektion. Hun blev fundet, som klynkede i hjørnet af et udhus. En af ammende mødrerne, Hazel, en Bichon Frise, havde så mange knuder, at hun havde larver i pelsen, mens hun fodrede fem dages gamle kuld. Mange af hunderne har også øjen- og øreinfektioner, store mængder parasitter og forrådne tænder. Vanessa Waddon, grundlæggeren af Hope Rescue sagde: "Rescue-centret var allerede næsten fuldt belagt før denne indkomst på grund af den forventede stigning i forladte hunde efter ophevelsen af lockdown-begrænsningerne. Dog er vi heldige at have et fantastisk netværk af fostersætter, der ikke tøvede med at åbne deres hjerte og hjem for at hjælpe med den fysiske og emotionelle genopretning af disse traumatiskede puppy farm hunde, som mange af dem prøvede at oplevere deres kuld under så forfærdelige betingelser. Vores centrumsteam blev stoppet, da en ældre lurcher, der var ti år gammel, ankom i forfærdelig tilstand, den venlige pige, som vi senere kaldte Lili. Finansieringen for 2026/27 giver Animal Licensing Wales mulighed for at vedligeholde dets ekspertteam, der understøtter lokale myndigheder i at regulere dyreaktiviteter, bekæmpe ulovlig avler og prosecutere forbrydere. 38 hunde, især franske buldogs, blev reddet fra en ulovlig puppy farm i Ely, hvor de led af smertefulde sundhedsmæssige forhold, der blev forårsaget af intentionel avler for ekstreme egenskaber og liv i forfærdelige betingelser. Hope Rescue, alongside other animal welfare charities, was called to assist with a multi-agency operation to help over 200 breeding bitches, stud dogs and newly born puppies from an unlicensed breeder in Carmarthenshire this weekend. The Hope Rescue welfare team attended the site and rescued 47 dogs from the most heart-breaking and appalling conditions they had ever seen. In total, they rescued five nursing mums with a total of 18 puppies, five pregnant mums and a further 20 adults. The dogs were amongst the most popular breeds, including Bichon Frises, Shihtzus, Cockerpoos, Cavalier Spaniels, Labradors and Cocker Spaniels. Some of the dogs required immediate admission to the vets, including Smarties a Cocker Spaniel who needed treatment for severely infected bite wounds and a serious ear infection. She was found cowering in the corner of an outbuilding. One of the nursing mums, Hazel, a Bichon Frise, was so matted that she had maggots in her coat whilst feeding 5-day-old puppies. A number of dogs also have eye and ear infections, heavy worm burdens and rotten teeth. Vanessa Waddon, Hope Rescue founder said “The rescue centre was already near capacity before this intake due to the predicted rise in abandoned dogs following the lifting of lockdown restrictions. However, we are fortunate to have an incredible network of foster homes who didn’t hesitate to open their hearts and homes to help the physical and emotional rehabilitation of these traumatised puppy farm dogs, many of whom were trying to raise their puppies in such appalling conditions. "The sad reality is that this puppy farmer was no doubt gearing up for the Christmas puppy market. Sadly, puppy farming is still very much alive in Wales and we were pleased to support the excellent work being undertaken by the Trading Standards Wales Regional Investigation Team. David Murphy's elderly dog Cora was found suffering with severe untreated skin disease two days after Christmas, she has now living out her golden years in a Hope Rescue foster home.
