Black cats aren't always easy to photograph, and in Mona's case, the situation is made even more challenging by the fact that she's constantly on the move. After all, whenever someone comes into her room, cuddling and snuggling are naturally much more important than sitting still for just a few seconds for a photo! That’s why, unfortunately, our photo doesn’t quite do justice to how lovely a kitten Mona is and how beautifully her black fur shines. There’s simply no substitute for coming to meet her in person during a visit to the animal shelter! Mona came to us with her kittens and spent the first few weeks in our mother-and-kitten care station. But now that her kittens have grown old enough and have already been rehomed, Mona herself is ready for a new home. She had four kittens and took very good, loving care of them. At the moment, she’s still quite slender and thin and needs to put on a bit of weight. She’s very open toward people, trusting, and affectionate. She also gets along well with other cats—in the shelter, she’s especially become close friends with the black cat Apollo. Vanja, on the other hand, prefers to keep her distance from people and doesn’t like being touched. Her fear is simply too great. In her scratching-post hideout, she feels safe and can observe everything around her comfortably. She certainly doesn’t get bored there. And if someone does dare to approach her closely, she knows exactly how to defend herself. Vanja gets along well with other cats. A free life on a farm would be ideal for her—or someone who has plenty of patience and endurance to slowly help her adjust to life with humans. As for Vanja, too: she gets along well with other cats and would benefit from having a confident, people-friendly cat as a companion when settling into a new home. At the shelter, she shares a room with Edda, who’s similarly shy to Vanja. The two girls really like each other and, if possible, would love to move into a new home together. Edda—like Vanja—is about nine months old and very timid. Together, the two young cats simply love playing, cuddling, and romping around.

Schwarze Katzen sind nicht immer leicht zu fotografieren und bei Mona kommt erschwerend hinzu, dass sie viel in Bewegung ist. Denn wenn schonmal jemand zu ihr ins Zimmer kommt, ist Kuscheln und Schmusen natürlich viel wichtiger als mal ein paar Sekunden für ein Foto stillzusitzen! Daher sieht man auf unserem Foto leider nicht, was für ein hübsches Kätzchen unsere Mona ist und wie schön ihr schwarzes Fell glänzt. Es fühlt also kein Weg daran vorbei, sie bei einem Besuch im Tierheim persönlich kennenzulernen! Mona kam mit ihren Welpen zu uns und verbrachte die ersten Wochen in unserer Mütterstation. Doch nachdem ihr Welpen nun alt genug waren und bereits vermittelt werden konnten, ist auch sie bereit für ein neues Zuhause. Vier Welpen hatte sie und sie hat sich sehr gut und liebevoll um sie gekümmert. Aktuell ist sie noch sehr schlank und dünn und muss noch etwas zunehmen. Sie ist Menschen gegenüber sehr aufgeschlossen, zutraulich und anhänglich. Mit anderen Katzen versteht sie sich auch gut – im Tierheim hat sie sich besonders mit dem schwarzen Apollo angefreundet. Auch Vanja sieht Menschen bevorzugt aus der Ferne und möchte nicht angefasst werden. Die Angst ist einfach zu groß. In ihrer Kratzbaumhöhle fühlt sie sich sicher und kann gut beobachten. Langweilig wird ihr so nicht. Und wagt es doch einmal jemand, ihr nah zu kommen, weiß sie sich zu wehren. Vanja ist verträglich mit Artgenossen. Ein freies Leben auf einem Hof wäre ideal für sie oder jemand, der entsprechend Geduld und Ausdauer hat, sie langsam an ein Leben mit Menschen zu gewöhnen. Auch für Vanja gilt: Sie verträgt sich gut mit anderen Katzen und würde von einer souveränen, Menschen gegenüber zutraulichen Katze, bei der Eingewöhnung in einem neuen Zuhause profitieren. Im Tierheim teilt sie sich ein Zimmer mit Edda, die ähnlich scheu ist wie Vanja. Die beiden Mädels mögen sich sehr gern und möchten wenn möglich gern gemeinsam in ein neues Zuhause ziehen. Edda ist – wie Vanja – etwa 9 Monate alt und sehr schüchtern. Allein zu zweit sind sie einfach zwei junge Katzen, die spielen, miteinander kuscheln und toben.
