Year of birth: 2014 SMETANA came to the animal shelter from Niegosławice, where she had been wandering for a long time and did not allow anyone to approach her, but it was finally possible to catch her in a live trap. She was probably a stray dog, does not know life with people and is afraid of them, human touch is something incomprehensible and terrifying for her. When she sees strangers, she hides in the shed or pushes herself into the farthest corner of the kennel. Thanks to the great work of a volunteer, she is slowly becoming braver and increasingly often watches with curiosity what is happening around her. She can greet a familiar person with a shy wag of the tail and a nuzzling. She also gladly eats treats from the hand. However, she still clearly does not want to be touched, she flinches and quickly runs away. She will not hesitate to show her teeth in such a situation - not because she is aggressive, but because it is simply her way of showing the person that they are crossing her comfort zone. She is very afraid of all noises and sudden movements. For now, she sets the rules of being in her company. She likes calmness and non-intrusiveness, then she lies down next to a person and rests. SMETANA still needs a lot of time to learn that a person will not harm her. Also, she needs to learn to be touched, and then to walk on a leash. We are looking for a responsible owner for Smetana, ready to take on the challenge of working with a shy dog and the desire to show her that a person is not just evil. Where could such a dog end up? Definitely in a home where the person would give her a choice whether she wants to stay indoors or outdoors, and provide a fence that this agile shepherd definitely will not get through or dig under. It is possible that SMETANA would feel good joining a small, properly socialized group of dogs or just a friendly second dog - these animals could show Smetana that there is no need to fear people and teach her proper behavior patterns.

Rok urodzenia: 2014 Smetana przyjechała do schroniska z Niegosławic gdzie długo się błąkała i nie dawała do siebie podejść, ale udało się ją złapać w klatkę żywołapkę. Nie będzie miała oporu, by w takiej sytuacji odstraszyć ząbkami – nie dlatego, że jest agresywna, jest to po prostu jej sposób na pokazanie człowiekowi, że przekracza jej strefę komfortu. Bardzo boi się wszelkich hałasów i gwałtownych ruchów. Póki co to ona wyznacza zasady przebywania w jej towarzystwie. Lubi nienachalność i spokój, kładzie się wtedy przy człowieku i odpoczywa. Smetana potrzebuje jeszcze dużo czasu, by nauczyć się, że człowiek nie zrobi jej krzywdy. Przed nią także nauka dotyku, a następnie chodzenia na smyczy. Poszukujemy dla Smetany odpowiedzialnego właściciela, gotowego podjąć się wyzwania pracy z sunią i chęci pokazania jej, że człowiek to nie samo zło. Do jakiego domu mógłby trafić taki psiak? Z pewnością do takiego, gdzie człowiek dałby jej wybór, czy chce przebywać w pomieszczeniu czy na zewnątrz oraz zapewnił takie ogrodzenie, przez które z pewnością ten zwinny owczarek się nie przedostanie ani nie podkopie pod nim. Możliwe, że Smetana dobrze by się czuła dołączona do niewielkiego, prawidłowo zsocjalizowanego stadka psiaków lub po prostu przyjaznego drugiego psa – zwierzęta te mogłyby pokazać Smetanie, że człowieka nie należy się bać i nauczyć prawidłowych wzorców zachowań.
